Masa kat hospital hari tu menu setiap hari sup ikan.  Sedap jugak rasanya.  Tak hanyir.

Kena suruh hubby get the ingredients.  Maybe should try ikan haruan sebab luka operate masih tak kering lagi.  Risaunya.

Memang sedap guna ikan merah. Ada satu jenis ikan isi putih yg tulang dia besar & sisik besar jugak pun sedap jugak.

Tak nak makan ikan haruan dlm botol tu ke? Yg tu sedap jugak sebab rasa Bovril. Kalau ikan haruan fresh sebaik2nya makan sekali dgn lendir sp. luka cepat sembuh.

Kalau pasta boleh ke masak guna rice cooker?  As in mendidihkan air, tambah pasta & minced chicken.  Bila pasta almost nak masak campur dengan pasta sauce & vege.  I should try this.  

I have a slow cooker - masih dalam kotak tak pernah guna.  Boleh ke masak soup guna slow cooker?  Someone said, slow cooker ni untuk hangatkan makanan bukan untuk masak.  Tu pasal tak pernah guna.

I pernah masak pasta dalam rice cooker. Masa pegi overseas duk kat hotel.... rice cooker jadi multi purpose cooker. as you said bila dah nak kering air pasta tu I masukkan jar spaghetti sauce and mushrooms. Kalau u nak guna minced meat:  brown dulu meat dgn olive oil dlm periuk tu.. add your sauce... Boleh jer, kita yang buat dia....

slow cooker tu utk masak slow2 dan berair..kira utk masak lama & tak hangus.Biasanya ada 3 setting low, high and auto. Biasa kalau bulan puasa aku campak tulang& rempah ratus sblm pi kerja..tinggal masa nk berbuka dah masak.
kalau buat bubur nasi , guna 'high' dlm sejam rasanya.
what ever..guna utk masak sup,kari,kacang kuda,bubur & rendang ayam tua/pencen.

Thanks for the tip.  

I'm trying to be ambitious & nak try masak dessert pulak.  Tengah mencari resipi yang sedap & mudah dibuat.  Thread suji is interesting.  Tapi dah banyak kali buat suji strawberry.  

Sifu-sifu yang kat sini ada tak idea dessert yg sedap & senang put together.

Ada slow cooker lagilah best masak. Boleh masak mcm2 juadah guna slow cooker. Give it a try.

anita.. hope u get well soon.. very soon.. biasanya kalau mcm anita atau ada org jenis takleh berdiri lama2 nak masak.. biasanya kita readykan bhn2 mcm blend bwg merah, bwg putih simpan dlm bekas, cili kering pun sama dlm bekas yg lain simpan dlm peti sejuk.. bila nak masak simple2, just panaskan minyak dlm kuali tuang je terus..

kalau sotong, ikan ke.. kita siap2 potong atau buat apa yg patut.. letak dlm bekas pastu freeze kan..

atau.. kalu dah plan nak buat lauk apa.. baru kita blend bhn2 asingkan dlm bekas.. bila dah nak masak just tuang je terus dlm kualli atau periuk..

Thanks Dianaris.  I tak sempat nak ready kan all that barang-barang sebab emergency surgery.  Stok yang dah dibuat sebelum operation semua dah habis.  

Kalau sekarang nak buat stock baru memang pengsan.  Tak larat I nak bawak barang dari dapur ke dining area untuk mengupas, hiris, potong etc. etc.   

Also, I tak nak my family asyik makan makanan dari luar.  Sometimes tu boleh lah kan.  But if I don't cook I'll probably go mad with nothing to do.  My kids & hubby prefer my cooking than outside food.  Tak selalu I masak sedap tapi happy
makan kat rumah sambil borak-borak & tengok tv.  

Cooking is therapeutic for me.  Cuma nak berdiri lama-lama je tak sanggup.  

Tadi hubby dah belikan segala macam sos pasta from Leggo and Prego.  Makes my life easier with ready made sauces.

baguslah kalau diorang suka masakan u kat rumah.. since u stated yg diorang prefer ur cooking.. why dun ask their help potong2 bhn masuk blender je.. yg blend u kena monitor atau blend sendiri.. kalau gi pasar, boleh mintak diorang siang ikan, potong ayam ikut u suka.. sure boleh..

my part, i takleh berdiri lama2.. sure nak pitam.. esp time pregnant ni.. thank God my hubby ikut arahan i readykan bhn2 je..   kalau masak kat dapur, i ready chair kat situ.. kacau2 kuali pastu duduk.. tetiba lately ni kita suka masak walaupun condition camtu, tapi feeling enjoy masak tu yg tak rasa leceh..

Samalah kita.  I pun readykan kerusi kat dapur.  Bila rasa kaki kiri macam nak collapse terus duduk kejap.  

In a twisted way, this is a good experience for my family.  Now everyone knows how to cook.

nyahh...
stim ikan mmg senang...
hari tu aku berexperimen buat stim ikan....
surprisingly sedap sgt rasanya (matila puji masakan sendiri)

bahan2 nye..(hari tu haku guna je apa bahan yg sedai ada kat rumah...boleh improvise sendiri bahan2nye)

serai hiris halus2,
daun bawang,
daun sup
halie mayang halus2
bawang putih..
asam limau
cili kering
gula
sos ikan

masuk je bahan2 kat atas tuh ke atas ikan yg kita nak stim...
asam tu masuk secukup rasa..aku suka masam, so masuk lebih...
but since masa masak hari tu hanya ada sektul je asam, maka aku tmabah air asam jawa utk masam kan lagi kuah nye nanti..
fish sauce tu aku masuk secukup rasa utk ganti garam

lupa nak cakap cili kering tu tak masuk dgn bahan2 tadi terus...

tapi aku goreng cili kering tadi bersama sedikit bawang putih dan halia... dan naik bau tu stop gorengan dan curahkan gorengan tadi berseta minyak dia dlm bahan nak kukus tadi...then kukus la...
haku rasa stim aku buat tu rasa sedap sbb aroma drp minyak gorengan cili kering, halia dan bawang putih itu..

Thanks Ashna for the tip.  Steam fish is my family's favourite also.  Especially ikan dori sebab tak ada tulang.

Just a quick update.  For now, I'm off from duty memasak.  Luka surgery dah ada masalah lepas buka jahitan last week.  Have to go for daily dressing change & cleaning.  

Sakit sungguh everyday kena toreh luka tu.  

Balik rumah tak ada mood nak masak.  Mood golek-golek tidur adalah lepas makan painkiller.

BTW, ada save recipe nasi boleh masak dlm oven. Kena cari dulu recipe tu.

Selain makan gamat ada gamat jelly utk sapu kat luka sp. luka cepat sembuh. Makan ikan haruan fresh pun bagus.

BTW, ni dia 2 recipes yg saya sempat save dulu.

Thighs on Rice  
INGREDIENTS:
2 cubes chicken stock
1 tablespoon water
1 cup uncooked white rice
1/4 cup butter
1 onion, chopped
2 cups water
6 chicken thighs
1 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Dissolve stock in 1 tablespoon water. In a medium bowl combine the rice, butter/margarine, onion and 2 cups water. Mix well and pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
3. Place thighs on top of rice mixture and season to taste. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes.

Baked Chicken on Rice  
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of
mushroom soup
2 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
2 (4.5 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms
2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut each chicken breast in half to make a total of 8 pieces; set aside.
2. Mix cream of mushroom soup with milk. Reserve 1 cup of mixture. Combine remaining mixture with rice, undrained mushrooms and 1 envelope of dry onion soup mix.
3. Spoon rice mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange chicken pieces on top. Pour reserved soup mixture over chicken and sprinkle with other envelope of onion soup mix. Cover tightly with  
aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove cover and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes and serve.

PS. Nasi beriyani pun boleh masak mcm ni.

I memang makan gamat - jeli gamat (gamat healing).  Dah 3 minggu makan gamat & supplement lain.  Pati ikan haruan, vit C & E, calcium, iron, etc etc.........semua ni I telan walaupun rasa disgusting.   Nak cepat baik.

Thanks Baiduri - for the baked rice recipes.  InsyAllah I'll try that.

I found a tip for people like me (non weight bearing) - keep a high stool in the kitchen.  I sit on it and do all my peeling, chopping, slicing, etc.  by sitting on it.

I have to be more independent now - dah nak masuk 4 weeks on crutches.  I'm mostly alone at home.  Sons go to school & tadika.  Hubby goes off to work.  So, its important for me to be able to cope alone.

Btw, might have to use wheelchair & crutches for 3 months!
