Jual Nasri, Cesc punca merosot

"Kami mendedahkan kelemahan mereka.

Katanya: "Mereka masih sebuah pasukan hebat. Mereka tidak pernah bermula dengan terbaik tetapi saya pasti mereka akan meningkat.

"Mereka ada ramai pemain muda yang akan matang dalam semusim dua lagi dan banyak belajar. Saya pasti mereka akan baik." - Agensi

Ancelotti idam ganti Wenger

Bekas pengurus Chelsea, Carlo Ancelotti turut memasang impian menggantikan Fabio Capello sebagai pengurus skuad kebangsaan England. – AFP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Selepas satu tempoh, saya semakin menyukai Ferguson. Tidak ramai memahami bola sepak sepertinya,”. – Agensi

Arsenal vs Sunderland Player Ratings
A close shave for Arsenal after a narrow 2-1 victory over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal
Wojciech Szczesny - 7
Superb goalkeeping from him to keep the score at 1-1 with a reflex save from point blank range, although he did make a fool of himself moments earlier when he dashed out of his box but didn't get to the ball.

Laurent Koscielny - 7
Looked like someone his manager can trust in the weeks to come in central defence. Thumbs up for Koscielny as he barely made any errors in this game.

Per Mertesacker - 7
The big man won most of the headers and even though he has been slammed in recent weeks for his severe lack of pace, he made up for it with intelligent defending.

Kieran Gibbs (45' off) - 6
Matched the runs of Elmohamady well and complimented Gervinho well going forward. It remains a mystery why he was replaced at half time though.

Carl Jenkinson - 7
Arsene Wenger really kept the faith in his young defender and was rewarded with an impressive display, but keep in mind he was not up against any world class wingers in this game.

Mikel Arteta - 5.5
Arsenal fans must feel that Wenger's £10million spent on him was money squandered after watching his performances in the past few games. A far cry from the authoritative midfielder he was at Everton.

Alex Song - 7
Although his passing was atrocious, Song did an excellent job protecting his back four and was always at the right place at the right time to put out the fire.

Gervinho (67' off) - 6
The final ball was disappointing from the left, but his dribbling and off the ball movement looked quite dangerous.

Theo Walcott - 5.5
Often tried his push-and-run tactic, but he failed miserably against the equally fast Richardson. Wenger should have handed Park Chu-Young his debut instead, considering Walcott's lack of success down the right.

Tomas Rosicky (77' off) - 7
Surprisingly effective in the middle of the park against Sunderland. His distribution and surging runs forward were also first class.

Robin Van Persie - 9
Scored the fastest goal in the Premier League this season, 28 seconds after kick off. He then hit the post 12 minutes later, but made up for it by scoring a trademark free kick late on to give his team all three points.

Substitutions
Andre Santos (45' on) - 6
Nothing much to do defensively, but he stuck to his man well and looked good in the air when challenging for headers.

Andrey Arshavin (67' on) - 7
Slowly regaining his confidence at long last, and made an immediate impact after his introduction with his trickery and shots on goal.
Yossi Benayoun (77' on)
N/A

Sunderland
Simon Mignolet - 6
Although Arsenal had a larger portion of the pie in terms of possession, Mignolet was barely tested as the shots and free-kicks were all off target.

Wes Brown - 7
Took his eye off Van Persie for just a split second and Sunderland went a goal down in the first minute of the game. As the game went on, he used his experience well in the heart of the Sunderland defence and threw his body at anything that was a threat to his goal.

Michael Turner - 7.5
Heartbreak for Turner after they were undone by a set piece goal. He defended so well, and was the reason why Van Persie's influence in the game deteriorated over time.

Kieran Richardson - 6.5
The left back easily matched the runs of Walcott who had an off day. Sunderland's overall game would have improved if he had made more runs forward, but that didn't happen.

John O'Shea - 7
Ensured Gervinho could not find a way past him and he was one of the three former Manchester United player who could just make a difference in Sunderland's defence this season.

Jack Colback - 6
A shot in the six-yard box to give Sunderland the lead before the break, but fired it narrowly over. Nothing much from Colback in the second half as he was seen defending the waves of Arsenal attacks most of the time.

Lee Cattermole (87' off) - 6
Credit to Szczesny for that wonder save, but Cattermole should have scored from a header in the 35th minute. In the end it proved to be a costly miss as that was Sunderland's best chance to go ahead.

David Vaughan - 5
The central midfielder was no match against the men in red and was trapped in his own half for the majority of the match.

Sebastian Larsson (67' off) - 7.5
The former Arsenal man scored the equalizer from a sublime free-kick which unsettled Arsenal till the break. Sunderland's only threat going forward, and should have played the full 90 minutes.

Ahmed Elmohamady - 6
Plenty of runs down the right from him, but could not stretch the full backs nor put in any balls into the danger area.

Stephane Sessegnon (79' off) - 5.5
It was like David and Goliath as he was up against the big Mertesacker, but this time Goliath emerged victorious.

Substitutions
Ji Dong Won (67' on) - 6
Was lively in the short time he was on, but lacked the quality to really test the Arsenal back four.

Connor Wickham (79' on) - 6
Tried to fight Mertesacker in the air with his height, but saw his team concede a goal shortly after coming on and it was all Arsenal thereafter.
Craig Gardner (87' on)
N/A

Arsenal vs Stoke Player Ratings
Robin Van Persie was the hero once again for Arsenal after bagging two goals in a 3-1 victory against Stoke at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal
Wojciech Szczesny - 7
Calm goalkeeping from the Pole. With better communication and more time for his back four to gel, Arsene Wenger may be right not to buy a keeper earlier this summer after all.

Laurent Koscielny - 8
Glued to Crouch all game and apart from the Stoke goal, Arsenal - for the first time - coped with the brute strength and size of the Stoke players very well.

Per Mertesacker - 7
Defensively solid and his long legs did come in handy with his last-ditch tackles.

Andre Santos - 6.5
A promising start for the left back who would probably be more effective playing in a more advanced position, because of the angled passes he makes. Brazillians are not particular known for their defending anyway.

Johan Djourou - 6.5
Filled in well at right-back and although he did not make as many runs forward as the other two players who played there this season, he managed to shut Etherington out.

Alex Song - 8
Just because he was captain of the day didn't mean he was responsible for dictating the tempo and creating chances! Nevertheless, the holding midfielder kept things tidy in his own half and it was as though the Stoke players were running into a brick wall everytime he showed up.

Mikel Arteta - 6
Still on a different frequency from that of his team mates. Needs more time to settle?

Aaron Ramsey - 7.5
Almost did a repeat from midweek early in the first half with a shot on the edge of the box, but it was inches off target. He later set up a brilliantly weighted ball for Gervinho's goal. Definitely a genius in the making.

Gervinho (90' off) - 9
A goal and two assists for the Ivory Coast International. The faster he settles in, the earlier he gets that coveted central forward role alongside Van Persie, and boy do they look good playing together.

Theo Walcott (71' off) - 5
Is there any room for improvement for the "next big thing" in English football? Or is this all he has to offer?

Marouane Chamakh (66' off) - 4
The forgotten bench warmer should have remained on the sidelines. He had his chances in front of goal but was just not clinical with the finish.

Substitutions
Robin van Persie (66' on) - 9
The Stoke players should have seen it coming. Once again Super-Van saved the day with his two goals and the Arsenal faithful must be wondering what life would be like if he is out injured or suspended.

Andrey Arshavin (71' on) - 6
Came on to keep possession and play the one-twos with his team mates.

Emmanuel Frimpong (90' on)
N/A

Stoke City
Asmir Begovic - 5
Van Persie's shots on target magically crept in not once, but twice. Awful goalkeeping from Begovic.

Matthew Upson - 7
Won the headers with ease against an inferior Chamakh. Organized the defence well and ensured the Stoke players remained focused especially with Arsenal's zonal possession.

Ryan Shawcross - 6
Not his usual hard tackling self, probably because the images of that horrific tackle on Ramsey are still vivid in his mind.

Marc Wilson - 6.5
He knew he was no match for Walcott in terms of pace but he stood his ground well and did everything necessary to ensure nobody got through.

Andy Wilkinson - 6.5
Was a lucky boy not to concede a penalty seconds after his team equalized. A determined performance from him, keeping his nerve and concentration when he was up against the trickery and pace of the Arsenal wingers.

Dean Whitehead - 5.5
Collected a yellow after a series of rash tackles, and that was when his game ended. Song and Ramsey ran riot in midfield and poor Whitehead was left chasing shadows in fear of collecting a second yellow.

Glenn Whelan - 5
Stoke almost got punished after he was guilty of not playing to the whistle and allowed Arteta to run past him like he wasn't there.

Matthew Etherington (75' off) - 5
Tony Pulis kept the quietest man in a Stoke jersey on the pitch but replaced two of their biggest threats to Arsenal. It is a pity he could not whip in crosses into the penalty box with that sweet left foot of his as he was needed defensively most of the time.

Rory Delap (60' off) - 6.5
His long throws were as threatening as ever, but they failed to terrorise the Arsenal defence like they had done in previous seasons. With so many team mates who are good in the air, he could have made a difference if he had remained on the pitch longer.

Peter Crouch (74' off) - 5
Had the goal at his mercy when he scored Stoke's equalizer, but did not threaten the Arsenal defence after that goal.

Jonathan Walters - 7
Did well to climb the highest to head the ball across goal for Crouch. Gave the Stoke fans a scare when he was down on the ground for quite awhile but managed the full 90 minutes.

Substitutions
Salif Siao (60' on) - 6.5
Came on and tried to break down Arsenal's passing game and did a satisfactory job, till Arsenal scored their second goal - after which it was all downhill for Stoke.

Kenwyne Jones (74' on) - 5.5
Was no match for the Arsenal defensive pair despite his huge build.

Cameron Jerome (75' on) - 5.5
Was virtually anonymous. His manager's attempt to grab a point form the game failed miserably.

Bukan misi mustahil

“Saya yakin kami mampu melakukannya.”

Vermaelen beraksi selama 84 minit ketika Gunners memastikan kemenangan pusingan keempat Piala Liga dengan menewaskan Bolton, meskipun terpaksa mening-galkan padang akibat kecederaan betis.

“Saya rasa hebat,” kata Vermaelen.

Jika anda seorang pemain bola sepak, anda perlu sentiasa bersedia.

Chelsea vs Arsenal Player Ratings
Arsene Wenger got his 500th victory for Arsenal after coming back from behind twice to beat Chelsea 5-3 at Stamford bridge.

Chelsea
Petr Cech - 4
Should have done better as the goals he let in were well within saving range. A disappointing performance from a player of his calibre.

John Terry - 6
Lady luck abandoned him after a crucial slip from a Malouda back pass allowed Van Persie to run clean through on goal. The only consolation was his goal before the break.

Branislav Ivanovic - 5
Could not keep up with the Arsenal attack and was merely a spectator for large periods of the match.

Ashley Cole - 7
Cashley was almost like a left winger as he managed to get behind the Arsenal defence repeatedly. His crosses from the left also looked dangerous, but too bad Didier Drogba could not play in this game to be on the end of the crosses.

Jose Bosingwa - 4
Terrible defending from the right back as he allowed Gervinho and even Santos to ghost past him like he wasn't there. Loved to get forward, but always left a hole at the back for Gervinho to exploit.

John Obi Mikel - 5
Went missing on many occasions when he should have been protecting his back four, giving Arteta and Ramsey lots of freedom in the middle.

Frank Lampard - 7
Getting his season back on track and was probably the best player in blue on the pitch. Did well to get down and get the header on target for Chelsea's first goal and created chances from midfield, but his players couldn't apply the finish.

Ramires (72' off) - 6
He was taken off probably due to an injury but provided plenty of and running as usual, making a few vital interceptions.

Juan Mata - 7
Created a goal and scored a stunning long ranged effort which lifted the team when Chelsea were having a bad spell.

Fernando Torres - 4
Should have given Chelsea the lead moments after the kick-off but couldn't keep his effort on target. Barely did anything thereafter.

Daniel Sturridge (62' off) - 6.5
Good off-the-ball movement and running to give the Arsenal defenders a headache, but needed something extra to get on the scoresheet.

Substitutions
Florent Malouda (62' on) - 6
A frustrated Malouda came on to provide an "assist" for Van Persie and surprisingly could not make an impact on the game.

Romelu Lukaku (72' on) - 6
Showed great strength and power with the ball, but should have been brought on earlier in place of Torres. Things could have been very different for Chelsea.
Raul Meireles (75' on)
N/A

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny - 7
Made a huge gamble when he came off his line to make that tackle on Cole and was a lucky boy not to be sent off.

Laurent Koscielny - 8
Had Torres for breakfast and kept the Chelsea forwards quiet all game. It is unlikely he will lose his place in the Arsenal back four when Thomas Vermaelen regains match fitness with this kind of performance.

Per Mertesacker - 5.5
Poor marking from the German allowed Terry to score from a corner on the stroke of half time. Not a game he would want to remember and was fortunate his mistakes did not cost his team.

Andre Santos - 6.5
A typical Brazillian - poor defensively but good going forward. Needs to do his homework on his opponents as he tends to over-commit at times.

Johan Djourou (75' off) - 5
Not too impressive as a makeshift right back as his marking was poor and barely provided support going forward.

Mikel Arteta - 6
Although Arteta managed an assist in the game, he looks like an average midfielder who should be playing for an average club.

Alex Song - 6.5
Could not retain possession in the first half, but there was a significant improvement in the second, breaking down Chelsea's attack and covering well for his defenders.

Gervinho - 7
Could have got a goal for himself had he not made a mess of a pin-point Walcott cross. Made amends shortly after when he unselfishly set up Van Persie for his first goal. Slowly but surely settling into this Arsenal team.

Theo Walcott (79' off) - 8.5
Definitely the best game he has played for Arsenal this season. His crosses were excellent and showed great determination to get back on his feet to score Arsenal's third goal despite being surrounded by three blue shirts!

Aaron Ramsey - 7.5
Great vision from him to pick out Gervinho which eventually led to an Arsenal goal. Young Ramsey has stepped up and shouldered the responsibility of being Arsenal's playmaker after the departure of Cesc Fabregas.

Robin Van Persie - 10
What are the bookmaker's odds for the Van man to get a hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge? His goals weren't too spectacular, but he deserved a perfect ten for his work rate and clinical finishing.

Substitutions
Carl Jenkinson (75' on)

Van Persie scoops Barclays double

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has won the Barclays Player of the Month award for October.

The Dutch striker took the prestigious monthly award after an electrifying spell that saw him score seven times in three matches.

That took his tally to 28 goals in 27 games in the Barclays Premier League during 2011, and helping Arsenal up to seventh place in the League table.

IMPRESSIVE MONTH
Van Persie's goal tally this month has taken him to the top of the Barclays Premier League scorers' chart where he is the first player to reach 10 goals in the race for the Barclays Golden Boot.

The Arsenal captain led from the front, scoring both goals against Sunderland at the Emirates as his side triumphed 2-1. His excellent form continued as he went on to bag another double as Arsenal overcame Stoke 3-1 at home.

The Dutchman rounded off an impressive month with a memorable hat-trick against London rivals Chelsea. Van Persie scored his sides' first to level the match 1-1 and was back amongst the goals to finish Chelsea off with two late strikes.

This is the third time that he has won the Barclays Player of the Month award, having previously claimed the prize in November 2005 and October 2009.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.

Norwich vs Arsenal Player Ratings
Despite an early scare, Arsenal maintained their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Norwich at Carrow Road.

Norwich City
John Ruddy - 7
Super save to deny Gervinho a goal or two, but with the number of chances Arsenal had in the game, it was inevitable the away team found the back of the net.

Marc Tierney - 5
Over committed too many times leaving holes in his left back position for Walcott to exploit. His team eventually paid the price after he was beaten by Walcott which led to the equalizer.

Leon Barnett - 6.5
Consistently stuck to Van Persie and did not allow the Dutchman as much freedom as he wished. Strong in the air and quick to step in when danger lurked but all that hard work was outdone by a moment of brilliance from Van Persie.

Russell Martin - 7.5
His positioning was superb as he repeatedly kept Norwich in the game especially in the first half - most notably his acrobatic clearance off the line in the11th minute.

Kyle Naughton - 5
Struggled against the tricky Gervinho and was a liability in the Norwich back four.

David Fox (Off 46') - 5
Did not contribute much as he was restrained by the strength of Song and outclassed by Ramsey's passing.

Bradley Johnson - 6.5
Worked his socks off to win possession for his side.

Anthony Pilkington (Off 82') - 5
Subdued by the mighty Koscielny and could not create any chance for his side nor break down the stubborn defence like he usually does with ease.

Andrew Crofts - 6
Had to sit back and defend for long periods of the game and tried his best to break down Arsenal's play from midfield.

Steve Morison - 7
Hunger plus desire equals a well deserved goal. Gave the Arsenal defenders problems in the first half but his touches abandoned him as the game went on.

Wesley Hoolahan (Off 69') - 6
A few neat touches here and there but did not bother the Arsenal defence at all.

Substitutions
Elliot Bennett (On 46') - 5
Did not do too much damage to Arsenal in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch.

Grant Holt (On 69') - 6
Despite the fact that Norwich are undefeated when they take a 1-0 lead at home, the super-sub was powerless to keep that record going against a rampant Arsenal.
Simeon Jackson (On 82')
N/A

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny - 6
Norwich did not work him as much as they should have apart from that defensive error which led to Norwich's solitary goal.

Thomas Vermaelen - 8
His usual self, solid at the back and even went forward to aid his team's cause whenever he could.

Per Mertesacker - 4
Arsenal fans all over the world must be wondering what on earth was on his mind when he had so much time and space to deal with the ball. He must be thanking his lucky stars that the error did not cost Arsenal from winning three points.

Andre Santos - 6
A regular at left back since Kieran Gibbs is sidelined for another month or so but failure to recover or get back into position in time could be an issue for Arsenal.

Laurent Koscielny - 7
Operating at right back in this game and although his manager played him out of position, he looked rather comfortable there although he could have made a few more runs forward to support Walcott.

Mikel Arteta - 6.5
Not as assertive as his manager would want him to be, but kept the ball superbly and covered for his defenders well when they were defending their lead.

Alex Song - 7.5
Grown in stature over the past few months and now looks like he's born to play in that holding midfield role. Even had an assist to his name.

Aaron Ramsey - 7
A very intelligent passer of the ball, very Fabregas-esque in the middle of the park. It is hard to believe this man is only 20 years of age!

Gervinho (Off 77') - 7
The ball eluded him for the second time in two weeks inside the six yard box. Should keep things simple if he wants goals.

Theo Walcott (Off 90') - 8.5
Terrorized Tierney all game with his runs and his crosses were uncharateristically accurate! Deserved a goal in this game but the upright got in the way.

Robin Van Persie - 9
The skipper had a hat-trick of chances in the opening five minutes alone, but unlike his team mates, clinical finishing did the trick for Arsenal and they go home with the three points again thanks to this man.

Arsenal vs Dortmund Player Ratings

Arsenal became the first English team to qualify for the Champions League last 16 after a 2-1 victory over Dortmund.

Arsenal.

Wojciech Szczesny - 6.5
Was barely called into action but commanded his penalty area well.

Thomas Vermaelen - 7.5
Gives the home fans a sense of security everytime he is on the pitch. Took charge of the Arsenal back four and even flicked on the header from a corner for Van Persie's second goal.

Per Mertesacker - 6.5
Looked a bit unsure at times at the back, and played the safer option of the short pass instead of doing anything too fancy with the ball.

Andre Santos - 6
Proved his manager wrong by outmuscling his opponent on a few occasions, but should work on his defensive side of the game instead of getting too involved going forward especially when his team has the lead.

Laurent Koscielny (83' off) - 7.5
Seamlessly filled in at right back and althought he had a very physically-demanding game, it turned out to be a shrewd tactical move from Arsene Wenger.

Aaron Ramsey - 6.5
Looked a tad lazy in the first half, but showed a sense of urgency after the restart.

Mikel Arteta - 7
A mediocre first half but got his passing boots on in the second half and showed he can tackle as well as set up players, proving his worth at both ends of the pitch.

Alex Song - 10
Tackles were well timed as he was single handedly breaking down Dortmund's play from midfield. Gets a perfect 10 for his moment of magic down the left which gave Arsenal the lead in the 49th minute!

Gervinho (74' off) - 5
Repeatedly gave possession back to Dortmund thanks to his nightmarish first touch. Had an opportunity to get on the scoresheet but didn't know what to do with the ball everytime he had it.

Theo Walcott (85' off) - 7
Forced an early save from Weidenfeller and, boy, has his crossing improved by leaps and bounds! Needs to know when to make the pass and when to take the shot himself though.

Robin Van Persie - 8
A giant leap in an unmarked penalty box usually ends up in a goal from the reliable skipper. Leave him in the box unmarked again and he will surely punish you.

Substitutions
Yossi Benayoun (74' on) - 6.5
Wanted to feel part of the team and he ran non stop in the short period he was on. Picked up an unnecessary booking for his over-enthusiastic tackle on Piszczek.

Dortmund

Roman Weidenfeller - 7
Single handedly kept the score at 0-0 at half time but was abandoned by his defenders twice, leaving Van Persie open for the two goals.

Mats Hummels - 6.5
Always first to the scene whenever there was danger in his penalty area but was nowhere to be seen when Van Persie was allowed plenty of room in the six-yard box.

Felipe Santana - 6
Filled in well for the injured Neven Subotic in the heart of the Dortmund defence, but whose responsibility was it to mark Van Persie?

Marcel Schmelzer - 6
Sucessfully mastered the art of provocation to get Arsenal players booked and got himself in the referee's book as well after his tackle on Walcott and will miss the next match against Marseille at home

Lukasz Piszczek - 7
The right back did a remarkable job marking Gervinho and at the same time exposing Santos at the back.

Sebastian Kehl (64' off) - 6
Struggled to match the Arsenal midfielders even though they weren't their usual self. Tried to make things happen in the final third of the field but just ran into brick walls.

Sven Bender (24' off) - 6
The young German international's game was over in the 23rd minute after a harmless looking collision with Vermaelen, and just when Dortmund thought things could not get any worst.....

Kevin Großkreutz - 6
Was tamed by Koscielny and was not productive down the left unlike how he normally is on his Bundesliga escapades.

Shinji Kagawa - 7
The fearless Japanese chased down every every ball and worked hard to close down the Arsenal players to keep them in their own half as much as possible. Grabbed a consolation goal in stoppage time, which was too little too late.

Mario Gotze (29' off) - 6
The travelling fans looked anxious after he seemed to have picked up a knee injury halfway through the first half, which was a huge blow to the team as they lost two key men in two key positions in quick succession.

Robert Lewandowski - 5.5
Started very brightly just like he did in the game against Arsenal at the Signal Iduna Park, but slowly faded off as the game progressed, especially after the departure of Gotze.

Substitutions
Moritz Leitner (24' on) - 5
The highlight of his game: Getting away with a stamp on Van Persie's achilles scot free.

Ivan Perisic (29' on) - 6
Tried to open up the Arsenal defence with his runs down the right, but the shoes left behind by Gotze were simply too big for him to fill.

Lucas Barrios (64' on) - 5
Couldn't expect him to make an immediate impact after returning from injury.
