The cryptocurrency market plummeted in value on Sunday and continued tumbling into Monday morning, as investors dumped risky assets.
Led by a drop of 15% in bitcoin in the past 24 hours and a 22% plunge in ether, the overall value of cryptocurrencies sank by about $367 billion, according to CoinGecko data. The drop in crypto prices led to more than $1.13 billion in liquidations in the derivatives markets, crypto data firm Coinglass says.
The selloff in the crypto market coincided with a broader slide in equities in Asia-Pacific markets. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped over 12%, extending losses that began last week, after the Bank of Japan announced it would hike its benchmark interest rate to the highest level in 16 years. It was the worst day for the index since the “Black Monday” crash in 1987.
In the U.S. the Nasdaq slid 3.4% last week into correction territory, capping off the tech-heavy index’s worst three-week stretch since September 2022, when the market was in freefall. Amazon and Nvidia contributed to the declines. Stock futures pointed to a bleak Monday.- CNBC

akibat :
- pengumuman U.S unemployment report yg koyak
- U.S entered recession 3 months ago
- Sejak beberapa bulan dulu, market priced in bhw The Fed to cut rates pada FOMC Meeting July, tapi The Fed menten (tak potong n x naikkan jugak), akibatnya market correction
- utk cover margin Call, pelabur jual emas n silver sbb senang nak liquidate (termasuk saham2 yg ada pembeli)
Japan plak tambahkan masalah
- tetiba Bank of Japan naikkan rates, maka kadar tukaran Yen/ USD naik (Yen mengukuh mcm tukaran RM USD la ni)
selama ni, pelabur U,S n seluruh dunia banyak pinjam Yen sbb rate 0%. Pinjam (anggaran USD20 trillion) dan beli saham atau aset di luar Japan..
tetiba plak interest rate Japan naik, maka :
1. Kena service loan + bayar interest (selama ni 0% interest)
2. terpaksa jual aset n saham utk cover interest yg tetiba naik dari 0%
3. nilai loan Yen makin naik sbb kadar tukaran Yen USD makin tinggi

Yen Carry Trade = pinjam Yen (low interest rates - dlm kes Japan 0%) kmdian labur/ simpan luar Japan dalam matawang yg berikan interest/ yield yg lebih tinggi
anggaran Yen Carry Trade USD20 trillion..
naper indeks Nikkei jatuh..
1. Yen makin kukuh - eksport jadi mahal. so teorinya demnd akan jatuh
2. Bila interest rates Japan naik - interest bagi loan domestik Japan pon akan naik

tahun 2024 adalah ulang tahun ke 100 Islam tanpa khalifah

Ala biasa ler kalau dah market naik aje, pastu dia turun la kejap. Nak buat correction. Kang dia naik la balik. Tetiap kali cerita yang sama. Takdenya nak terjunam. Sekali dalam berpuluh2 tahun aje akan ada market correction yang besar2 |
