Every decision and action made towards his workforce especially towards the lower income earners and the national workers union is generally known as the ‘dark ages’ in NUBE’s book.
His tenure in Maybank, only scratches the surface. During his reign as the CEO of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) from July 2004 till April 2008 he had manipulated, exploited, sacrificed his workers just to meet targets and make enormous profits.
The conclusion towards this question, for NUBE members and as the rakyat that have been under his management, think that Wahid’s intellectual brilliance and expertise was used only to build his own reputation, to defend his ego, to make profit for himself and to ensure his self-interests, and not for the betterment of our country as a whole.
It is as if he really wants to see himself as great capitalist; that can manipulate and exploit his workers that even they don’t realize their enslavement. For him, an employee’s dignity is reserved underneath his feet.
