dia ada 4 album kalo tak silap. album pertama tu ok gak jualannya. cuma masa tu org US susah lagi nak terima dia sbg penyanyi country sebab dia asal canada, bukan texas seperti kebiasaanya. so dia org luar pertama dpt dominasi carta country kat US. pastu dia jugak artis country pertama dpt cross-over dr country to pop. sampai jadi trend pd artis country yg lain mcm faith hill & martina mcbride.

pasal laki shania ni, si robert john 'mutt' lange(kawin thn 93), dia ni terlalu low profile. dia tak suka dunia glamour. sebab tu susah nak cari foto dia di internet, sbb dia mmg jarang bergambar dg shania utk publisiti. kalo album family tu rasanya mestila ada kot. cuma utk tujuan komersial dan publisiti mmg laki dia taknak dikenali. walaupun laki dia yg cipta lagu dan terbitka album dia. masa award2 show pon laki dia tak join.

pasl anak lak, hmmmm. rasanya dia ada 2 org anak.

ini aje yg aku penah dpt kat internet... itupon gambo lama.

In the late 1990s Shania Twain entered into mainstream country music
sporting a new edge. Her music wasn抰 the typical twang and southern
accents people were used to. Her music transformed country music, and
began the now mainstream pop/country genre that is so popular today. Her
life, however, has been marred by poverty and tragedy. Shania Twain is
most definitely one of the greatest success stories in country music.

kisah sedih shania...

Shania Twain was born Eileen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
on August 28, 1965. A few years after her birth, her mother Sharon
divorced her father, Clarence. Sharon then took Shania and her two
sisters to a rural town named North Timmins in Northern Ontario. Soon
after her divorce, Sharon re-married a Native Canadian from the Ojibwa
tribe named Jerry Twain. Twain soon after adopted Sharon抯 children. The
newlyweds then had two more children; sons Mark and Daryl. Shania truly
lacked a childhood. Her family was worst than poor. In the winter, when
there was no place to work and the family had no money, the Twains
would go on the reservation and hunt animals such as deer and partridge.
To make matter even more difficult, Sharon was often clinically
depressed. Shania continuously worried that her and her siblings would
be taken away from her family. She tried to hide the fact that the
family was poor. She would bring pieces of bread with mustard on them to
school so that it would appear as if she were eating sandwiches for
lunch. Although the family struggled, Sharon realized that her daughter
had a gift, and influenced her to follow her passion of being a singer.
By the age of three Shania was singing. By the time she was eight years
old, Shania was performing full country songs to her family. She was
also performing in retirement homes and bars. At ten, Shania began
writing her own music.

By the time she was in her early teens, Shania knew she wanted to be a
professional singer. She had dreams of living without having to worry
about money. Everyday after school, Shania worked at the McDonalds in
her town. She also helped her father plant trees with his reforestation
businesses. When she was sixteen she became a member of a band called
Longshot. It was at this time that she began skipping school in order to
compose songs. When she was twenty-one years old, Shania moved away to
Toronto. In the daytime she worked as a secretary; at night she
performed in local clubs and bars. At twenty-two years of age, her
career halted. She received a phone call that her parents had died in a
tragic car accident. Although her two younger brothers were in the
vehicle, they survived. Shania went back to Timmins and raised her two
brothers and sister Carrie Ann. She soon moved the family to Huntsville,
Ontario and began performing once again. She sang at the Deerhurst
resort.

It was at Deerhurst that Shania抯 career began. A friend of hers, Mary
Bailey, had a meeting with a few men from Nashville. The men, after
hearing Shania perform, invited her back to the country capital to cut a
demo. Shania received a contract with Mercury Nashville. Although her
first cd did not do too well, she caught the attention of producer Mutt
Lange. Lange got in contact with Shania. The two met in June 1993. They
co-wrote songs and eventually fell in love. On December 28, 1993 Shania
married Mutt Lange.

Shania抯 second album, The Woman In Me, shot her to stardom. The album
was produced and co-written by her husband. The album was like nothing
ever heard before. Gone were the twangy melodies and instruments that
used to define country music. In its place were pop melodies that flowed.
That year, The Woman In Me sold eleven million copies, and Shania Twain
won a Grammy for Best New Artist.

Shania抯 next album was entitled Come On Over. Shania also has a new
image. No longer did she appear to be like the girl next door. She was
sporting belly baring wardrobes, and had a very sexual image. She
immediately received criticism from country fans. Shania ignored the
assault and basked in the success of Come On Over. The album, to this
date, is the biggest selling country album of all time; both male and
female. It is tied for number five on the best selling cd releases. It
is behind artists Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, and Led
Zeppelin. Come On Over is tied with The Bodyguard soundtrack.

Recently, in 2003 after a turn away from stardom, Shania Twain released
Up! The album, although not as successful as her previous, still did
well. Up! Features music from around the world. There is a recording
from Indian musicians which was recorded in Mumbai, India. There is also
music from an Irish orchestra. The singles were: 揑抦 Gonna Getcha Good,!

GOSSIPS

Born August 28, 1965, a fact unbelievable to many, Shania Twain has led the charge of country singers who've been able to cross over into the pop charts as well. Shania's birth name was Eilleen Regina Edwards but she later changed it largely in part because of her stepfather, who was a Ojibway Indian, and the name "Shania" meant "on my way". Unfortunately, Shania's real father, Clarence Edwards, was on his way out when Shania was just a few years old, having left his wife and Shania's mother, Sharon. Shania has never forgiven her real father even after her mother and stepfather were tragically killed in an auto accident in 1987. When Shania became famous she made it a point to tell her father 'Don't call me, don't contact me. I want nothing to do with you ever again'. While her father was devastated by the letter, he further was grieved when Shania appeared on Oprah and told Oprah in fact her dad was a Ojibway Indian. Her father was watching the program in a bar with friends and began crying after being slighted by his daughter. Her spokeman has said of the bitter situation: "Her father walked out on her. As far as she's concerned her real father was an Ojibway Indian."
Life was difficult for Shania after the shocking death of her parents, having Shania left to care for her 3 younger siblings. Shania landed a job at Ontario's Deerhurst Resort, which taught her a lot about the entire business of entertainment. When Shania arrived there, she was very green in the business, fortunately she was lavished by a much older businessman, John Kotowski, who spent a great deal of money molding the young star. She had bad teeth which Kotowski paid to get fixed and the other girls in the resort taught her how to move on-stage, how to wear her hair, and how to dress. Apparently though she may need more dressing lessons, as a recent People magazine issue slammed Shania by saying her look verged on 'Barbie Doll' and that 'she needs a total makeover'. The people at the resort soon knew that Shania wielded a lot of power and could get people hired and fired there, so many were frightened of her. To this day, Kotowski still refers to Shania as 'my girl' although he's disappointed that she has never called or met with him since leaving the resort. His marriage with his then and current wife though did survive, though she suspects her husband was cheating on him with Shania, he says he thought of her as a daughter though.

Shania Twain met with a distant admirer at the time, Robert "Mutt" Lang in 1993 and soon after, the two were writing music and getting married. The loser in this situation was Shania's longtime love Paul Bolduc, whom Shania left to follow her dream of becoming a music star. She soon lived out her dream as The Woman In Me and her follow up Come On Over, were the first back to back 10 million plus selling albums for a female artist. While stodgy country folk recoil at some of her hits being called country, she has managed to stay atop the charts in both the pop and country genres. Much of this is in large part to her sexy image, one which was helped crafted by Bo and John Derek. Ask Shania if she's a beauty and she'll respond "My cheekbones are good and I have a nice smile. But I'm not one of those people who look absolutely gorgeous photographed from any angle. I can be beautiful if I have to be, but there's cellulite on my legs and they're not very long either." She was beautiful enough though to land an endorsement deal with Revlon to launch ColorStay Liquid Lip in 1999.

Shania's good looks and fame have not come without stabs from others though. Besides the People Magazine dissing, she insulted a major clothing designer by cutting a hole in a dress he designed for her in an awards show in 1999. Also, Shania was incensed during a recent taping of a concert which featured her and The Backstreet Boys, who's female fan base overpowered Shania with annoying shrieks and a crowd holding up 'I Love You BSB' signs and then dispersed when the Boys left the set. Needless to say, she won't be doing too many specials with BSB in the future. Shania also seems to have devastated Judy Demers, who married Shania's ex after she left him in 1993, Paul Bolduc. Apparently Shania returned to reclaim her prize and has left Judy and her two children in the dust. Judy is said to feel totally betrayed by both her husband and Shania, whom she says she was close to both, of course now she hates Shania passionately, especially since she openly stole Paul right in front of her face, having her leave Shania's campsite in tears as Shania and Paul reportedly laid it on thick. Apparently Shania's romance with Mutt Lang is all but dead according to a recent story in the National Enquirer. Shania has agreed to pay for the completion of Demers and Bolduc's home, which will be given to Demers as part of the settlement, sources say.

December 22, 2003 - Billboard reports if there was ever any doubt about Shania Twain's career prospects after the Canadian songbird took time off to start a family, the success of her album 'Up!' and current tour have put those concerns to rest. Twain finishes 2003 as the top country artist of the year and the top female country artist. She also comes in at No. 3 on the year-end Billboard 200 chart. .

December 18, 2003 - Shania Twain this week became the first ever artist to sell more then 10 million copies of three consecutive albums. (so betul la dia dah kumpul 3 diamond award utk 3 album dia yg terjual lebih 10 juta each)
