Mysterious of the khafre's pyramids and the great sphinxThe Pyramid of Khafre is also known as the Pyramid of Chephren, as Khafre was also called by this name. It is the second highest pyramid built in ancient Egypt and is located next to the famous Pyramid of his father Khufu. (Subtitle B.melayu terdapat di dalam video ini)
The pyramid appears to be higher than the Pyramid of Khufu because of the higher bedrock it's built on. It is also the second largest pyramid located in the Giza necropolis and is built in the same way as those of the other Pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty. This pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway that runs on an angle to avoid the Sphinx, a mortuary temple and the King's pyramid. Khafre’s valley temple, located at the east end of the causeway leading from the pyramid base, is beautifully preserved. It was constructed of megalithic blocks sheathed with granite and floors of polished white calcite. Statue bases indicate that an additional 24 images of the pharaoh were originally located in this temple.
