Orang Baru Kat barcelona:
Brazilian Belletti agrees to join Barcelona
MADRID, May 25 (Reuters) - Brazil defender Juliano Belletti has agreed to join Barcelona from Spanish rivals Villarreal on a four-year contract, Barcelona said on Tuesday.
"We have reached a definitive agreement with the player. Now we only have to put it all on paper. I think it may be done in 48 hours," Barcelona director of football Txiki Begiristain said in a statement.
Spanish press reports this month said Belletti, a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning squad, was hoping to seal a move to Barcelona in a deal worth around four million euros ($4.75 million). Barcelona did not reveal the transfer fee.
The deal will reunite Belletti with his compatriot Ronaldinho, who inspired Barcelona's recent 17-match unbeaten run that helped them finish runners-up in the Primera Liga to qualify directly for next season's Champions League.
Barcelona also said Dutch defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst, signed on loan from Arsenal last year, would stay at the club for the "coming seasons".
Barcelona will not have to pay any transfer fee for Van Bronckhorst, the club said.
"Now it only remains for the player to sort out a small detail with Arsenal. In two or three days we will have a definitive response," Begiristain said.
Van Bronckhorst joined Arsenal from Rangers for 8.5 million pounds ($15.38 million) in June 2001 but his spell at the premier league club was blighted by injury.

Barca juga 'kapak' 5 player...
Kluivert out as Rijkaard axes five
Barcelona have announced a major squad clear-out with Patrick Kluivert, Marc Overmars, Phillip Cocu, Michael Reiziger and Rustu Recber leaving the club this summer.
The move signals the club's intention to slash their wage bill, and sporting director Txiki Begiristain now plans to lower the average age of the squad over the coming months.
The news that the four Dutchmen will leave the club also underlines how coach Frank Rijkaard - from Holland himself - will rule his players with an iron fist during his second year at the helm.
Rijkaard had good relations with the quartet of Dutch players, but friendships were put aside as he decided against offering new contracts to Cocu and Reiziger.
The club have instructed Kluivert and Overmars to find new clubs, stressing that there is no future for them with Barca.
They remain in negotiations with Juventus' Edgar Davids, another Dutchman, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at the Nou Camp.
When asked about Kluivert and Overmars, who have reportedly been targeted by Barclaycard Premiership clubs, Begiristain was emphatic.
'We don't want them to stay,' he said. 'Overmars didn't play much last year and didn't contribute much to the team.
'Kluivert is always under pressure from the crowd and this is not good for any player.
'Both Kluivert and Frank Rijkaard are in agreement with this. We are looking for players to cover both positions.'
Of Cocu, who almost left the club last summer, Begiristain added: 'He's leaving because he wants a bigger wage and bonuses.
'We have a clear philosophy on wages and we don't want to break this for any player. It wouldn't be fair on the squad.'
Rustu's departure has been inevitable, with the Turkey goalkeeper's career in club football having ground almost to a halt during his two years in Spain.
Victor Valdes has established himself as Barca's number one goalkeeper with some supreme performances last season.
Begiristain said of Rustu: 'He will not be staying. He's filling up a place which could be taken by another non-EU player.
'It's been a sad story for him here, but now we realise what a good player Valdes is.'
Barca finished the season in second place in the Primera Liga, behind Valencia but in front of great rivals Real Madrid who slumped to fourth.
But Henrik Larsson's agent, Rob Jansen, has played down reports linking the departing Celtic hero with a move to the Nou Camp.
Jansen told Scotland Today: 'A move to Spain is very likely. We are waiting at the moment for Henrik to make up his mind which club he wants to play for.
'But he has several options - approximately four.
'We have been there and Barcelona haven't said anything. We mentioned it and they didn't respond so what else can you do?' |

Boro in talks with Barca outcast
Middlesbrough have opened talks to sign Barcelona's unwanted Dutchman Patrick Kluivert.
The forward has been told he can leave Camp Nou during the summer and Boro have made the opening gambit in a bid to land the gifted Oranje star, although the club also confirmed that they were interested in Yakubu and Mark Viduka..
Kluivert has spent six seasons at Barcelona but was a peripheral figure in the Catalan giants' renaissance in the second half of the past campaign.
Barca coach, and former Ajax team-mate, Frank Rijkaard has deemed Kluivert is surplus to requirements and a move to The Premiership could be on the cards.
Boro chief executive Keith Lamb has confirmed the club have registered their interest in bringing Kluivert to The Riverside.
But with Kluivert due to represent Holland at Euro 2004, Lamb admits it is likely to be a slow process to persuade the player to move to Teesside.
"We do have interest in him but any potential deal is still at a very early stage," said Lamb.
"Steve McClaren and Steve Gibson have made it well known that we are in the hunt for quality strikers and Kluivert falls into that bracket.
"He is the sort of player that would excite the fans and fill the stadium for what is an important season for the club.
"It's difficult to progress at present as the player is preparing for the European Championships with Holland.
"But we have started and we will try to move things forward in the near future."
Boro are anxious to reinforce their attack during the summer and, having missed out on Alan Smith, appear to have Kluivert and Leeds United ace Mark Viduka at the top of their list.
The key issue could prove to be Kluivert's wage demands but Boro will have their coffers swelled for next season due to Uefa Cup football being on offer at The Riverside.
Kluivert says that he has always wanted to play in England but, although some clubs are interested, no concrete offers have come in so he will wait until after Euro 2004.
"I always said that England was one of the preferred countries I want to play in," said Kluivert.
"There are a few clubs but not concrete clubs so I will first play the European Championship and we will se what happens after that." |
