We are honoured to announce that Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Permaisuri Johor, has consented to grace this Seminar on “Islam and Multi-Cultural Relations”.

It will feature the distinguished scholar, Datuk Dr Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas as keynote speaker, followed by a panel session involving Prof. Dr Tatiana Denisova (Professor at RZS-CASIS), Dr. Mohd Zaidi Ismail (Adjunct Prof. RZS-CASIS), and Dr. Murni Wan Mohd Nor (Senior Lecturer, UPM).

It is hoped that this Seminar will be able to:

(i) shed light on the vision of Islam on cultivating harmonious multi-cultural relations;

(ii) discuss our collective role in forging a more viable future;

(iii) analyse the challenges in creating a harmonious multi-cultural society; and

(iv) present solutions and recommendations to pave the way for the emergence of a flourishing multi-cultural society.

The objectives of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah Seminar on Global Issues at the behest of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah are:

(i) analyze this subject from various angles
(ii) explore new possibilities to strengthen relations between Muslims and those of other faiths and cultures, and
(iii) suggest robust solutions to this global challenge.
