Ranbir Kapoor, we hear, has decided to turn over a new leaf. The Tamasha actor, who has been battling tough times both personally and professionally, does not want to get bogged down any more.
SpotboyE.com has it that Ranbir is eager to mark a new beginning -- not just on screen, but as a person as well. To begin with, he has decided to stay off alcohol. For the past few days, Kapoor Jr has not touched any hard drink, say sources.
That’s not all. Ranbir is also serious about quitting smoking. In fact, over the past 2 months, he has drastically reduced the number of ciggies he lights in a day.
Ranbir, who has bought a sprawling apartment in Pali Hill, has temporarily shifted to his dadi’s (Krishna Raj Kapoor) bungalow in Chembur, as his new home is being readied. Staying with dadi means no more loud, late-night parties with friends at home.
From what we hear, Ranbir does not even light ciggies in front of his grandmom -- he waits till she retires for the night.
Well, it’s indeed heartening to see someone wanting to change for the better.

After undergoing treatment for his nerve ailment last year, Salman Khan, 47, quit his old habit. Looks like, the nerve trouble managed to set off the alarm bells ringing in the actor's mind, making him health conscious.
2. Vivek Oberoi
Actor Vivek Oberoi, not only quit smoking after he started visiting patients at a cancer hospital in Mumbai, he's now the ambassador of World Health Organisation's anti-smoking movement. He doesn't even let people smoke on the sets.
3. Aamir Khan
It was the constant coaxing from his kids, Junaid and Ira, that forced actor Aamir Khan, 48, to cut down on smoking. Finally, it was the arrival of his youngest son Azad in Dec 2011 that made him kick the butt for good.
4. Saif Ali Khan
After almost suffering a heart attack five years ago, actor Saif Ali Khan not only quit smoking but even turned into an anti-smoking crusader. He says he has quit smoking and drinking to keep young. And we did see glimpses of that in his last production, Go Goa Gone.
5. Konkona Sen
A heavy smoker, actor Konkona Sen Sharma quit smoking on her way to motherhood. "The pregnancy meant a complete change in lifestyle. I used to be a smoker, overnight I couldn't smoke or drink at all," she was quoted saying.
6. Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan is the first one on this list to leave smoking. “I wanted to give up smoking. I tried quitting five times before and failed. I tried nicotine patches and other methods, but nothing worked. I wanted to kick the habit so I began researching how to. I spoke to people who had quit, went online and read articles, saw testimonials of people on Youtube… I kept checking, and then finally I came across this book Alan Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking, I ordered that book and the day I finished the book was the day I smoked my last ciggie.”
7. Ajay Devgan
Smiling away to glory, the actor confesses, “I am feeling great. I just woke up one day and decided to kick the habit.” Ajay’s wife Kajol has always been opposed to Ajay smoking but as all you smokers know it’s not easy for any chain smoker to stop. So what influenced Ajay to curb smoking? As they say there’s no smoke without fire (in literal terms). He did it just because of his will and care for his family.
8. Arjun Rampal
Arjun Rampal left smoking for his kids. For the 37-year-old model-turned-actor smoking came as a part of his curriculum in college. But some time back, Arjun had declared on Twitter that he will stop smoking for the sake of his kids. His wife Meher also quit smoking and it’s helped him kick the butt.

Nampak sgt heols masih x ngam dgn papa Chintu... walopun heols anak emak, tp ai rasa heols x selesa duk sebumbung dgn papa Chintu. Last time ms heols gi further study kat US pun heols kata ekceli itu sebagai excuse utk kuar dari umah jah... walhal heols sendiri dh x minat nk sambung study kan. Ms kat US Ranbir kata heols penah terjebak coba2 amik dadah... maybe jenis pil khayal kot... then also kaki minum alkohol.. tp sampai satu tahap heols sedar & cpt2 hentikan tabiat2 buruk ni.
Heols bagusnya kan sbb x kisah kena duk dgn Dadi.. mesti umah tu pun meninggalkan byk kenangan kpd heols, especially dgn atuk heols dulu. At least ada gak Kapoor family yg bleh tgk2kan Dadi yg dh uzur tu... plus heols bleh disiplinkan diri di dpn Dadi.  Hari nk pindah kuar nnt agak2nya Ranbir sampai ati x nk tinggalkan Dadi heols tu?? Ya ampun apa nk jd Ranbir oiii!!! Nasibaik xterjebak dlm kancah yg tak sepatutnya. Haisyyhhh nasibaik wokey... Ai baca Apak Chittu xsuka kan Ranbir jd pelakon. Dia kalau boleh nk Ranbir berjaya dlm bidang lain. Agaknya atas nasihat keluarga n melihat pd kesungguhan Ranbir tu yg Apak Chittu kasi kebenaran heols berlakon kot. Kemana tumpahnya kuah dhal kalau x ke roti paratha kan...
