Assalaamualaikum,
If someone wants to convert to islam, should they first learn more about islam (and delay their shahada) or convert first and then start learning (at their own speed) about practical matters and how to avoid sin etc..?
Any reference to some scholars about this matter?
thanks! |

if you have acquired enough knowledge about islam to be convinced that it is THE faith that you wholeheartedly want to follow i'd say take the syahadah first. don't delay for tomorrow might never come. the ritual parts of the faith can be learned at your own pace later. |

Actually, it depends on that person him/herself. If someone still have some things that they still not convinced or rather to learn first and use it later after that person convert to Islam, why not learn some first. There are some cases out there that started learn first and convert later, mainly because they still have some unsatisfied things about Islam. But if that person is fully convinced about what they want to do and about Islam itself, why not convert first. After all, it's entirely depends on that person. |

syahadah comes from the heart. not in special ceremony. doesn't matter whether you learn first or learn later. when it comes to your heart, you believe it. |

Assalaamualaikum! The decision to take the Shahada before or after learning more about Islam is indeed personal. If someone feels convinced and ready to embrace Islam, taking the Shahada first can be a powerful step, with learning and practicing following naturally. However, if there are lingering questions, it's wise to learn more first. |

i will write later.
but dont wait, please. waiting to be perfect to do it, is not a good self conduct.
at least just say it by yourself in your house if you dont want make it official. the difference between being a muslim and a non believer in afterlife is too great that we muslim cant let you waste any time on it. it even make me worry if you cant make it that anything happen to you.
so do it although you feel short in spectacular...it doesnt need to feel spectacular...
please be safe by not waiting any longer..
i will write more later.
