World Cup 2010: Five reasons for England's failureFabio Capello's side headed to South Africa with high hopes, so where did it all go so wrong for the boys of 2010?
1 Fabio Capello His tactics, selection and intransigence
There were times in this tournament when one of the most decorated managers in the world game looked utterly helpless, baffled as he appeared by the sudden inadequacies he was witnessing out on the field. Those same weaknesses had not reared up in qualification but, against organised and fresh opponents, England appeared laboured.
Fabio Capello must take plenty of the blame, and the tone was set when the FA was obliged to make him give up a commercial scheme for a "Capello index" of rating players during the tournament. His unwillingness to adapt from a strict 4-4-2 was as damning, perhaps, of the players he has at his disposal. Even so, some in his ranks would have preferred a variation on 4-3-3 that might have seen Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard playing in positions they favour at club level. There was little flexibility to his approach, and England did not always tap into the talent he had available. Joe Cole's inability to make the team, with Shaun Wright-Phillips favoured instead, caused consternation.
Capello's policy of announcing his team two-hours before kick-off was only ever an issue after Rob Green's horrible error against the USA, and David James' recall thereafter made it irrelevant. But it summed up his stubborn streak. Similarly, his disciplinarian approach did not make life easy. The tensions which erupted after two stuttering performances could be pointed to the players' discomfort.
When the manager mellowed slightly, the team played in a more relaxed fashion, before Germany's class told. The reality is, though, that the Football Association may have thought it was employing a miracle worker on |

england 2nd gol tu, bayaran hutang after 44 years. in 1966 final, gol england tak masuk tapi dikira masuk. so, kali ni masuk tapi tak dikira masuk. so, kira hutang dah berbayar. at any rate, masuk ke tak masuk, it shouldn't be an excuse for the loss. accept it and move on.
anyway, Germany played better than England. England missed so many assignments; left men opened, unorganized attacks, and desperate to win even though they just down by a goal.

It's the end of the World Cup as we know it, but we feel fine: 20 reasons it's OK we're out
1) There will be no Welcome Home Heroes party at Downing Street allowing the ConDems to distract attention away from their savage cuts by riding the national feelgood factor. And England will still have only ever won the World Cup under Labour.
2) Love-rats Ashley Cole and John Terry will be distraught. Love-martyrs Cheryl Cole and Wayne Bridge ecstatic.
3) You don’t have to listen to any more games with vuvuzela-blowing fans, meaning no more feeling like you’ve got a swarm of wasps trapped in your head.
4) We can all get behind the team we always end up supporting in these tournaments - the one playing Germany.
5)Instead of wasting your few weeks of annual sun gawping at the telly you can get into the garden and cultivate a tan, meaning you don’t have to visit Spanish swimming pools, staring at Germans on sun-beds, and feel inferior all over again.
6) It could be worse. You could be French. Or Italian.
7)David Cameron and Prince Charles will not represent us in the final looking like a pair of Burton’s Dummies, doing more to destroy our Cool Britannia image than 20,000 fat-bellied, lager-spewing 40-something fans in red Rooney shirts.
8)James Corden’s and Dizzee Rascal’s Shout will immediately plummet into the bargain basement bins thwarting Simon Cowell’s attempt to avenge his Christmas Number One disaster by staying top of the charts all summer.
9) We can stop ignoring Scottish tennis failure Andy Murray and get behind British tennis legend Andy Murray.
10)Phoney football fans can get back to hating the game, and real ones hating them. Remember folks, next season’s Champions League qualifiers start tomorrow (TUE) and the Premier League kicks off in 47 days.

internationally, may be. in usa, all 4 major sports boleh challenge. i think fifa should give it a look. it will be better for the sport. one miss call could cause a team millions of dollars (losing revenue), especially if a game is tight and decided by a goal. it won't take the fun out of the game.
