Example A.) Final Battle: Jaesuk vs KJK Episode 93 In episode 93, they tried to eliminate KJK in the beginning. So this was a good opportunity to tell the story "oh we lose because we didnt eliminate KJk earlier." Jaesuk can hop around and can say "why didnt i eliminate you earlier". This is why KJK can humiliate Jaesuk and rip of his nametag. KJK wins and its funny/entertaining. Example B.) Final Battle: Jaesuk vs KJK Episode 99 Jaesuk eliminates spy Haha but then he is suddenly going against KJK. Now this is also a situation where KJK can win. The fun of a KJK victory is the irony of the situation. Jaesuk was smart enough to know that Haha is the spy but reality is so cruel.... he gets punished by KJK in the end and humiliated and KJK rips of Jaesuks tag. KJK wins and its okay. Example C.) Final Battle Jaesuk vs KJK Episode 185 This is different. KJK is the evil guy. It would not be funny if the evil guy wins. In movies, did you ever see the the evil guy win ? Thats right, you dont. KJK knows that and all KJK wants to do is entertain the viewers. He rips off Haha's tag to make the situation even more exciting. THEN he allows Jaesuk to rip off his tag and loses on purpose. We can call this scripted. In the end, its KJK who realizes that it would be bad for the episode if the bad guy defeats the couple and wins. You dont do that. You try to make an ending that fans like. This is why KJK only ripped of Haha's and then decided to make Jaesuk win. KJK loses and it would be wrong if he wins. Example D.) Thailand special KJK vs Nichkhun Ep51 KJK was the spy (evil guy) and eliminate almost every player. At this point, KJK knows that it would look weird and awkward if he (the evil guy) wins. This is why (and i am sure of that) KJK lets Nichkhun rip off his tag. you just let the guests win because if KJK (evil guy) would win, then it would be just awkward and not interesting/funny. So this is the way Korean Variety is done. I call it scripted. It doesnt mean that someone writes it down for them. It means that the members dont play to win, they play to entertain the viewer. If you play tag ripping for real you never get as many twists and surprising exciting moments as in RM episodes. You have to create this kind of "drama/storyline". The members do that and lose on purpose when they feel it will make the episode better." - snow@isubs
