Police investigating Gianluca Pessotto's fall from a window have confirmed he was found clutching a rosary.
The newly appointed Juventus team manager suffered multiple fractures and is in a serious condition at a Turin hospital after it is understood that he fell from a height of around 15 metres.
Reports have suggested that Pessotto either fell from a window on the second or third floor but there is also the possibility that he fell from the roof.
Police are continuing their investigation as Pessotto, whose injuries are not thought to be life threatening, is undergoing medical tests and surgery this afternoon.
Pessotto, who hung up his boots as a player at the end of last term, is understood to have firstly hit a parked Alfa 147 and then a Lancia Phedra as he plunged to the ground.
"I have no idea what happened, I'm shocked," said Juventus marketing guru Romy Gai.
Marco Girotto, Juventus' Press officer, added: "We still don't know what occurred, we'll have to wait and see.
"Gianluca has suffered a number of fractures, but his life is not at risk."
The news of Pessotto's fall was met with shock by the Italian national squad who are presently on Germany 2006 duty.
Captain Fabio Cannavaro brought his Press conference to an end after he was informed of this morning's events.
"I'm shocked, 'Pessottino' is the nicest man on earth," said the Juventus captain. (chop... italy's captain la, bukan juve captain)
Marco Materazzi noted: "He was here in Germany just the other day, what happened? He's a friend who must recover. We are all close to him."
A number of Juventus officials are now anxiously waiting for news at the Molinette hospital, including new President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, Romy Gai and Michelangelo Rampulla. Former Juventus Vice-President Roberto Bettega is also present.

dia tension sejak dia retire.. from yg aku bacala.. dia tension antaranya bcz dia tak sure whether retiring from football is a correct decision bcz actually dia ada dapat offer main kat club lain jugak. tp dia tak accept coz dpt offer jd team manager. 2ndly, dia tak sure whether he can perform up to expectation sebagai team manager. pastu maybe ada lagila sebab2 peribadi yg lain. |

Hours before their World Cup semi-final against hosts Germany eight of Italy's likely starting line-up received the news their clubs could be relegated from top flight soccer.
On Tuesday, the prosecutor in Italy's match-fixing trial against four clubs - Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio - said he wanted all of them demoted from the top flight Serie A with Juventus relegated to the third tier Serie C or below.
While the prosecutor's request is by no means certain to be agreed to by a tribunal in Rome, his demands were much tougher than many observers had expected.
Juventus have eight players still at the World Cup - five of them in the Italy squad and three with the France team who face Portugal in the other semi-final on Wednesday.
They would have also learned on Tuesday that their manager Fabio Capello has resigned.
In all, there are 13 players in the Italy squad from the four clubs threatened with relegation and eight of them could expect to be in the starting line-up against Germany in Dortmund later on Tuesday.
The core of Italy's impressive defence, which has conceded just a single goal in five games at the World Cup is made up of Juventus players.
Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, full-back Gianluca Zambrotta and captain and central defender Fabio Cannavaro all play for the Turin team along with midfielder Mauro Camoranesi.
Key central midfielders Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso play for Milan while the most likely strike pairing against Germany would be Milan's Alberto Gilardino alongside Fiorentina's Luca Toni.
No players have been implicated in the scandal which is focused on the role of club officials and referees over the past two seasons.
The Azzurri's pre-World Cup training camp was dominated by discussion of the scandal but coach Marcello Lippi, who enjoyed two successful spells in charge of Juventus working alongside some of the officials who are being charged by the tribunal, has insisted the affair has not affected his team in any way.
'I said before the tournament that I didn't want this mess to become an excuse for a poor performance and now that things have gone well I don't want to hear it added to our pluses that we did well in the midst of this,' he said at the pre-match news conference on Monday.

yup... kalau serie c1 mmg sakit la.. kalau serie b rasanya no prob. individual sponsorship - luckily ghadaffi minat juve.
yg pasal pprosecution team mintak hukuman berat tu.. biasala tu.. prosecutor mmg akan kena mintak hukuman seberat2nya (kalau bole hukuman mati, tp takder plak untuk dakwaan ni). kalau mintak ringan2, senang sgtla lawyernya gi mitigate nanti. |

players tak tau pun.. kat kelab2 lain pun players diorang tak tau benda, tak involve... tu kalau interview semua players confident cakap diorang fought n battled really hard atas padang so diorang tak rasa ada salah.
no choice la.. kena jual jer la players2 ni.. kalau ko muda n tgh top (mcm buffon, zambrotta, trezeguet ker) takkan nak main kat serieB nyer.. rosak career jer. yg dah nak pencen tu takper la.. or yg dah merasa pegang mcm2 piala tu lainla. cant blame them if diorang nak blah pun.. tp sedih la tgk players gi..
