Designer goods target quality concious customers. They spents lots of money in advertisements. Customers are paying for the advert cost and the quality of the goods as well. The brands will become well known after all the adverts and eventually labelled as branded. |

quality is also a subjective issue to discuss...BMW associate to quality, for those people who really crazy about car...as for me, my kembara is gud enuf ...
LV bag is too gud for somebody ...
BMW targets executive and corporate markets. Choosing a car is depending on individual preference, budget and also purpose. If I am a CEO of a public listed company, I would drive a BMW7 series or a Merc S Class or a Jaguar XJ or an Audi A8 which associate with my success as a businessman. If I am a clerk working in a bank earning RM1K, I would then drive a Kancil. |

ppl should walk or naik basikal pegi keje laaa..so bandar tak banyak asap kotor
a car is kemudahan.. memudahkan awak pegi kemana mana...the same as money..all materials simply kemudahan.
ada kemudahan asas, ada kemudahan mewah(luxury). but when elite ppl with elite ppl, kemudahan luxury yang di pandang golongan bawahan or lower rung pada elite itu hanya kemudahan asas CLASS mereka.
so do not be mistaken, it is not the material, it is always about THE PEOPLE (class or group)
mereka terkejut bila ramai oang bawahan BOLEH BERFIKIR ELITE macam depa tapi masih hidup macam pariah jugak.
it is always people attitude lah wei loon |

CEO of what company? If I set up as small Sdn Bhd company and I can always call myself a CEO.
Some rich people keep a cheap or old car to go to market, mamak stall, buy newspaper and etc.
When they attend business meeting they will drive their luxury car.
A lot of us look at rich guys with big cars with jealously. They think these guys are showing off. Some of them do show off.
In the real business world people tend to look at what you drive. Your car is equal to your success. They look at your cover not your content. If your content is good but cover is no good, they think you are bluffing.
Let me share a story with you. This guy, he is doing house renovation and also a contractor. He used to drive a Proton saga. All the projects he used to receive were kacang putih size. After few years, he upgraded to a Wira. Then he received slightly better contracts. But the contract size remain the same for many years. So fed up with all these nonsense, the bought a 2nd hand Bimmer. From then onwards, he was getting bigger projects.
Whether you like it or not, this is the real business world. Another thing is richmen can afford all these luxury. We mustn't be jealous of them. They deserved all these luxury because they worked for it.
I got a friend who is a real estate agent. He drove an old Ford Laser. His rich clients refused to get into his car when he took them to view properties. They would tell him "come in my car". My friend had no choice and he bought an used Volvo.
He had no more such problems after that.
One day when you become successful and rich, your mind set will change. Trust me you will change, to the better or worst, is all depends on you. |

He went interview for a study course. The requirements are different.
Interview for a job or to get a place in a higher learning is different.
You have not started working yet. You don't know the real world out there. |

yeah... I agree with you. Academic world is so much different.
A high calibre lawyer cannot make it alive wearing short and singlet in courts. Would you feel safe in the hand of a surgeon wearing baggy hip-hop clothing while performing surgery? Eventhough he is of great repute and skill? |

yup..i concur on that...in the corporate world..how u are perceived is closely
related to the way how we carry ourselves..and that includes the way we dress and carry ourselves
its a matter of perception really..how shallow that sounds |

My youngest brother is a CEO of a real estate company. He is dealing with reputable developers. He is selling high end properties to overseas clients. His company is growing pretty fast over 1 1/2 years. He is considering changing his car to suit his current image. He has to do so to show his clients and the developers that he is successful. This will buy confidence. Whether he likes it or not this his how business works.

write to express not to impress
the same way i guess, dress to express and not to impress
in an interview they will 'look' at the interviewee 'body language', the eyes for instance, fidgeting or not, where the person put his or her hands, folding arms or not, etc.
thru body language the interviewer will know whether one is people oriented (good for team work) or individualistic (good to work by himself in a remote lab)
i am surprise there isnt topic about body language so far and yet we know 80 percent message in any communication are done non verbal (body language)
i never put any important to form of any matter, always the substance.
as what the malay saying reminded, ukur baju di badan sendiri. Confidence is derived from our faith, belief into anything we do(success). Dress will not guaranteed us anything but the FAITH always does. |

It depends on individuals. Some like to show off, some buy luxury car for business purpose and some buy for quality. |
