Ubat OTC tu boleh didapati dimana?
Buasir memang bukan penyakit keturunan ker?

OTC = over the counter i.e. tak yah prescription Dr.

Di hospital2 KKM Daflon, Anusol etc di bawah restricted list..the so-called List A drugs...cuma dr pakar aje yg boleh prescribe..how it becomes OTC items in private-owned  pharmacies puzzled me :stp:.

...Anusol supp has been an OTC item for quite some time...proctosedyl supp still requires a prescription though...but if given the chance...i would choose proctosedyl supp...think it works better than anusol supp...ntah eh...lots of my pts responded well with proctosedyl supp compare to anusol...

...but..im as puzzled as u doc...however...it seems that private-owned pharmacy somehow doesnt really care about prescription slips...during my holidays in melaka...i was able to buy norvasc and ventolin inhaler without any prescriptions....no questions asked too...:bgrin:...back here...its damn strict...for the above items...they wont dispense those items without a valid prescription...even if u want to buy procodin cough mixture...u have to fill in their book where they record down your particulars and address...:kant:...think the problem with these private-owned pharmacy is that either they are given too much of autonomy  or there is a lack in the govt system itself failing to check them on a regular basis...:kerek:

U jual ubat tapi KKM List A pun u tak tau maknanya..MasyaAllah..sama aje mcm jual ubat kat kaki lima....

Genius!

blackmore,

I think the answer is there is a lack of  reinforcement  of the existing law by the health ministry..and the most worrying trend I seeing nowadays are in some places non-pharmacists are dispensing these kind of drugs. Welcome to BolehLand...

Alahai nak bercerita dengan orang2 pandai susah la nak kena terangkan satu-persatu satu. Maksud A yang diperkatakan at the end of the KKM reg. no MALxxxxxxxxA (Controled), MALxxxxxxxxT (Traditional) - , MALxxxxxxxxX (OTC), MALxxxxxxxxK (Kosmetik). Agaknya daflon kat spital tu takde no reg. kat strip dia tu yg non-specialist drs tak tau dia OTC kut.

Sekali kita menolong orang 10 kali Allah balas.

Susah cakap orang yang tak faham tapi rasa dia tahu semua benda...

I was talking about the KKM so-called "blue-book" and not the product codes. If you havent heard or seen this book I suggest you ask somebody who knows about it before you make a fool of yourself more and more in this forum.

In this blue-book there is a list called The National Essential Drugs List.

The National Essential Drugs List was formulated by using the Ministry of Health抯 (MOH) Drugs List as a basis. The MOH Drugs List which was introduced in 1983 serves as the essential drugs list for the public healthcare sector. Every drug in this list is classified according to the category of medical officer or healthcare provider allowed to prescribe it. This list is dynamic and is reviewed every 4 months by a panel consisting of specialists from the main disciplines and pharmacists.

The Committee for Creating the National Essential Drugs List has decided that the List shall consist of two parts. The first part called the Essential Drugs List contains all preparations needed for primary and secondary healthcare treatment commonly used by Medical Officers and paramedics in primary healthcare facilities. Several preparations used in tertiary care are included in order to be consistent with WHO抯 Model Essential Drugs List. This part contains 358 chemical entities and 605 preparations (List B and C).

The second part called the Supplementary List consists of drugs used by specialists for tertiary level treatment. This part contains 257 chemical entities and 391 preparations (List A and A*).

Those codes you quoted were product codes. Daflon as an example although  listed as OTC is a List A drug as far as doctors are concerned. The rationale behind this was to restrict the use of this kind of medications to specialists and not to any doctors as they are expensive and have limited indications...factors those with patients wellbeings in mind can appreciate..

BTW I can prescribe List A drugs...:::

I think somebody here doesnt understand english or may even be dyslexic..
READ THE THREAD THROUGH COS YOU'RE EMBARASSING YOURSELF HERE MR. ADVERTISER..

I was saying that in KKM hospitals some OTCs are not OTCs e.g Daflon..i.e you need a specialist to sign a prescription to be able to get them. Most of us like to adhere to existing regulations in terms of prescribing drugs unlike a small proportion of us who run over the regulations to make a few bucks...leave the prescribing jobs to the doctors. If you dispense prescription-required drugs without a prescription sooner or later you'll get caught. Not to mention halal-haram lagi...:hmm:

Masalah-masalah

B - Can be dispensed only against prescription of a registered medical practitioner (semua tak kira GP mahupun Specialist), dentist or veterinary surgeon.
C - Can only be sold as a dispensed medicine with entry in the prescription book.
P2(Part 2 Poisons) - Retail sale restricted to poison license holder.
NP(Non Prescription) - OTC drugs

...hmmmm....nie bukan nak gaduh...tapi...nak tanya sikit...nape dalam setiap debate kat forum mesti ada satu pihak tu yang akan mengaku dorang tak pandai dan sebagainya :hmm:....in the first place...kalau dah tau tak pandai...jangan pandai2 post itu dan ini ...in my opinion...kalau kita dah post kan satu2 artikel tu...kita kenalah ambil pendirian yang teguh dan menegakkan apa yang kita dah postkan tu...cos really...i sincerely believe that we have to be responsible and accountable for what we have posted here...tapi...kalau ada pihak lain yang menyangkal apa yang kita dah postkan tadi...cuba kita perhatikan dan baca posting dorang plak ngan hati dan minda yang terbuka...do accept critisism from other forumers with an open mind and if theres an opportunity for u to refute back...then do it in a healthy and responsible ways...theres no need for us to show that we are cleverer and smarter and noe all than others...cos really...if we think that we are smart and clever...there are others out there who are smarter and cleverer than us :ah:

....individual differs in everyways...including opinions...and we are free to voice out our thoughts here...and to be able to accept and discuss things in a mature way...i think thats the beauty of a healthy adult discussion...

...memang kita disuruh merendah diri setiap masa...tapi...janganlah sampai kita menghina diri kita sendiri...janganlah mengutuk diri kita macam tu...tak baik...orang pon tak suruh kita kutuk diri kita camtu...dalam setiap debate dan perbincangan....perbezaan dalam pendapat mesti berlaku...jadi...terimalah pendapat forumer lain ngan ikhlas dan hati yang terbuka...sebab semua kat sini tau...bila kita postkan something kat sini...niat kita hanya untuk berkongsi satu kebaikan ngan orang lain...itu sajakan??....hmmm...wallahualam...

...and like always...forgip me if ive crossed the line today....

merendah diri tak sama dengan menghina diri mengaku tak pandai bukan makna mengaku bodoh tetapi yang mengaku pandai belum tentu betul. :hmm:

:lebai:

hakikatnya saya dah faham pasal buku biru
