Pankaj Kapur makes Shahid proud!  

One would expect Pankaj Kapur to be proud every time he sees his son Shahid deliver a great performance on screen. But this works the other way round too. Pankaj Kapur plays a miserly old shopkeeper in Vishal Bharadwaj抯 next film Blue Umbrella, and when Shahid recently saw the film he couldn抰 stop gushing about dad抯 performance and how tremendously proud he is of his Papa Kapur抯 acting skills. And he, too, wishes to act like PK, some day. Now Shaihd, we抮e sure you抳e heard of Baap Numberi, Beta dus numberi. You can do it!

Abhishek抯 strange tale!  

It抯 sometimes really strange how the idea for a film originates. Apparently, Abhishek Bachchan, relating how he actually signed Mani Ratnam抯 Guru, informs that Ratnam and he were actually working on a different script when the director suddenly had a change of heart. He told Abhishek that he felt like making Guru instead because he found it to be very interesting. AB junior, who places his entire trust in the filmmaker, heard him out and immediately agreed with him. And that is how Abhishek now portrays the role of Gurukant Desai, the protagonist of the film. As for the other script, hey, that抯 one more film they can do together in the future, right?  

Arjun Rampal says gimme more!  

Producing a film is no mean task. While most producers are left exhausted after completion of a project, first-time producer, Arjun Rampal doesn't seem a wee-bit perturbed by it. "It's a thrilling experience. I am involved at each and every stage, seeing something develop from scratch to finish is amazing. It's a complete high. I am sure I will make more films," says the enthusiastic actor-producer. Hold your horses for some more time, Arjun, at least till the B.O office starts ringing.  

Shreyas Talpade: Dreaming of Madhuri!  

He's a brilliant actor, alright. But his first attempt at an all-out commercial flick didn't really do wonders. Given his bashful off-screen image, working with sexy sirens like Koena, Riya and Celina was quite an eye-opener for Shreyas, literally. But one lady he's dying to work with is Madhuri Dixit. "She's my all-time favorite. I have always dreamed of working with her, and I am still hoping someday in this lifetime I will." Keep your fingers crossed, Shreyas, who knows, the gorgeous Mrs. Nene might just tell you haan someday!

Good news for regional cinema: For the first time in history a Punjabi film Waaris Shah- Ishq Da Waaris has entered the Academy Awards for 2006. The film was officially entered in the general category from the USA and it will allegedly compete in a number of categories including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Costumes. Punjabi films can't get bigger than this!

Salman takes people for a ride!  

Guess what's Salman's latest obsession is? It's his set of expensive Hayabusa bikes which the star loves to ride all the time. In fact he is so obsessed with his new set of sports bikes that he rides to shoots and dubbing studios. And though some people like Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera have been lucky to get a ride with the actor, lesser mortals haven't had the privilege yet. But be warned about the consequences. Recently, an associate director of Ravi Chopra asked Salman for a ride on his bike. "Salman took him for a ride on his bike but you should have been the poor guy's face afterwards. He was so scared, he got off the bike and ran for his life and promised never to pillion ride with Salman," laughs a unit member of Babul. Must say, it抯 a smart move on Salman抯 part to keep unwanted people at bay!

She might look like the perfect baby doll on-screen - with her peaches 'n' cr?me complexion and clothes in pinks and pastels. But off-screen she's more like a 'spice' gal. Well, it stems from her love for spicy food. "I love any kind of junk food, especially chaats like paani puri, bhelpuri - with an extra dash of spicy chutney. In fact, I have a credit system with all the chaat wallahs down my lane. They exactly know my taste. I can live on junk food, "says Ameesha. So guys, to lead a healthy life - add a bit of spice to it. We're not saying this - it's our Mistress of Spices? little secret!   

1993 Mumbai Blast: Sanjay Dutt convicted!

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt found guilty in 1993 Mumbai blast case. Today a special TADA court in Mumbai convicted Sanjay on the charge of weapons possession under Section 25 of the Arms Act. However the court has acquitted him of the more serious charge of conspiracy in the worst-ever terror attack on the city in which 257 people were killed and several hundred injured.

Sanjay, who is out on bail, was convicted by Judge P.D. Kode, who had on Monday asked the actor to be present in court.

As per law experts, the minimum sentence for the charges under which Sanjay has been found guilty is three years.

Sanjay had earlier spent almost 18 months in jail as an undertrial.

Reports say Sanjay, wearing a check shirt and denims, while before entering into the court premises, was looking thoroughly tensed. He was accompanied by some of his Bollywood colleagues and family members.

Abhishek-Priyanka paired up together for Goldie Behl's forthcoming film 'Drona'. It will be Goldie's second directorial venture after 'Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai' in 2001.

Priyanka and Abhishek first time shared screen space in 'Bluffmaster'. It will be their second film together.

'Drona' will also have Jaya Bachchan playing Abhishek's on-screen mother. Jaya and Abhishek first time seen together in a Bengali film. Also in Pradeep Sarkar's next, they will be seen together.

PELAKON BOLLYWOOD HANYA DIDAPATI BERSALAH MILIKI SENJATA API

MUMBAI: Pelakon terkenal Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt, semalam didapati bersalah kerana memiliki senjata secara haram.

Tetapi beliau dibebaskan daripada pertuduhan lebih serius, yakni berkomplot dalam serangan bom yang mengorbankan 257 orang di Mumbai pada 12 Mac 1993.

Semasa memberikan keputusannya di kamar mahkamah yang penuh sesak, Hakim Pramod Kode berkata: 'Sanjay Dutt bukan seorang peng ganas,' lapor laman berita Hindustan Times semalam.

Keputusan it melegakan Encik Dutt kerana Akta Senjata Api yang digunakan untuk mendakwanya membenarkan beliau memohon ikat jamin.

Sebelum diberikan ikat jamin, Encik Dutt, 47 tahun, sudah pun menjalani hukuman 18 bulan penjara, sebahagian besarnya di Penjara Thane, terpisah daripada tertuduh yang lain.

Awal dari itu, Encik Dutt tiba di mahkamah dengan kawalan ketat semalam.

Beliau ditemani saudara perempuannya, Namrata, Gaurav dan rakan-rakan Bollywood, termasuk Bunty Walia. Tetapi beliau masuk ke mahkamah seorang diri.

Encik Dutt didakwa memiliki secara haram tiga senapang penggempur AK-56, sepucuk pistol, peluru dan beberapa butir bom yang dibekalkan seorang lagi suspek pada Januari 1993.

Beliau juga dituduh cuba melupuskan senjata itu tiga bulan selepas letupan berlaku.

Encik Dutt menegaskan beliau memiliki senjata itu hanya untuk melindungi keluarganya.

Menyusuli keputusan itu, beliau boleh dikenakan hukuman antara lima tahun pen jara dengan penjara seumur hidup. - AFP, Reuters.

KHALWAT: PELAKON HAIRIE OTHMAN DIDENDA $384

LANGKAWI: Pelakon Hairie Othman didenda RM900 ($384) atau lima bulan penjara semalam selepas dia mengaku bersalah berkhalwat di sebuah hotel sini September lalu.

Hairie, 35 tahun, mengaku melakukan kesalahan itu dengan Cik Norelia Pirdaus, 24 tahun, pada 6.05 pagi.

Bagaimanapun, rakannya, Rashdan Baba, 37 tahun, juga seorang pelakon, tidak mengaku salah terhadap tuduhan sama.

Rashdan, yang sudah berkahwin dan mempunyai tiga anak, dituduh melakukan kesalahan berkhalwat dengan Cik Azlina Padzill, 24 tahun.

Kedua-dua wanita terbabit tidak hadir di mahkamah semalam dan waran tangkap ke atas mereka dikeluarkan oleh Hakim Rendah Syarie, Sheikh Baharuddin Che Nen.

Ketika ditahan, keempat-empat mereka dipercayai baru sekitar sejam pulang berhibur di sebuah kelab malam berhampiran hotel di Pantai Cenang di sini.

'Saya insaf dengan kesilapan dalam hidup saya dan mohon dikenakan hukuman ringan. Lagipun, saya sudah berkahwin dan baru menimang anak kedua,' kata Hairie selepas mengaku bersalah di mahkamah.

Ketika ditemui di luar mahkamah, dia berkata: 'Saya lega kerana semuanya sudah selesai dan berharap masyarakat, terutama peminat, dapat memberi peluang kepada saya untuk memperbaiki kesilapan diri. Saya juga berharap perkara ini tidak terus berpanjangan kerana saya sudah berkeluarga dan mempunyai isteri serta anak selain mempunyai ramai saudara-mara.

'Saya tidak mahu disebabkan kejadian ini masa depan kerjaya saya terjejas. Bagaimanapun, setakat ini semuanya berjalan lancar dan saya lega dengan keadaan itu,' katanya. - BHM, Harian Metro.

It's not everyday, even in Film City that you casually glance out of your car window when it stops at the traffic lights to find Abhishek Bachchan parked in his white BMW, just inches away.

Despite his beard and the dark glasses, Abhishek was easily recognizable. But this being Mumbai, Bunty wasn't mobbed or even tapped for an autograph. Some curious glances were slanted in his direction by passers-by before they hurry off to work. A few tracked his progress in their rear mirror as the BMW sped down the road before swerving into a narrow by-lane.

Salman took Govinda for a midnight ride in autorickshaw!

Salman Khan came riding an autorickshaw at actor Govinda's house and took him for a midnight ride.

Govinda, however, was quite awkward initially going for a rickshaw ride in the middle of the night, but finally the actor-turned-politician couldn't refuse Salman. "I was not prepared to go for a rickshaw ride in the middle of the night at all. But you can't say 'n' to Salman. It's not that he is authoritative. But he asks you to do something with so much love that you feel refusing him would be like denying a baby," said Govinda.

Where they went? "We went to Bandra. It was lovely; there was a nip in the air which felt good in the rickshaw. Salman loves rickshaws and he makes sure that he drives whenever he is traveling by one," replied Govinda.

Ash-Hrithik kiss! Obscene?

Aishwarya-Hrithik intimate scene in just released 'Dhoom 2' is 'obscene', alleged a lawyer of Indore, namely Shailendra Dwivedi. And the lawyer didn't stop just calling the scene 'obscene', as per latest he has filed a petition against actors Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan seeking their punish in a local court in the central town of Indore. Reports said, the court has accepted Dwivedi's petition and would hear the petitioner on Dec. 11.

Dwivedi alleged a scene from the movie 'Dhoom 2' featureing Aishwarya and Hrithik kissing intimately lowered the dignity of Indian women and had an obscene message.
"Bollywood actors are conveying vulgarity in the society," said Dwivedi. "These films cannot be watched with our families, they are so vulgar at times."

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra would rather use the downtime between films to brush up on her dance steps than act in mediocre movies, a newspaper reported Monday.

Chopra had two hits this year - Krrish and Don, and has said she plans to take a break before shooting another two movies next year.

Priyanka said juggling between four to six movies a year is not her style.

Salman's hair loss not a worry

The monster multi-starrer Salaam-e-Ishq with its criss-cross of stars from Govinda, Salman Khan, John Abraham and Anil Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla, Vidya Balan and Ayesha Takia, could've broken an average director's back.

But Nikhil Advani seems to be made of sterner stuff. He is enjoying every bit if it. Even the notoriously undisciplined Govinda seems to be giving Nikhil a splendid time.

"Govinda is like a dream," Nikhil raves. "He's on the sets on the dot and embarrassingly apologetic if he's a few minutes late."

In fact the second-time director was petrified about how to handle the vast cast. "But it's like cakewalk. No actor has given me any grief.
