Itu harga RnD, tak sama dengan harga jual sebab tu US akan bagi royalti kat UAE kalau diorg dapat jual F-16 E/F ni kat negara lain, harga F-16 C/D pun jauh lagi murah USD 18.8 million je so memang logik la harga F-16 E/F USD 27 million~

How about F-16 E/F? The export version for UAE air force. They bought it for USD 26.9 million per unit which we can buy 2 unit of F-16 E/F for the price of 1 Gripen. And F-16 E/F is the latest block w ...

The problem with the E/F Falcon is that its an old aircraft given new avionics and electronics.The Gripen NG is a spanking new jet with more space/open architecture for future upgrades/updates.

No doubt tho that the E/F Falcons are indeed very capable jets..truth be told I'd be very happy if we decide to get the E/F.Anything but Russian.But end of the day tho,I'd rather get a new gen of jets with better upgradeability,and without having to cosy up to the US too much.

Engines are one thing,but the whole jet including its weapon systems,missiles and electronics being US made is going to be a hassle should we have a fallout with them.

With the Gripen NG,we still show that we are a nation that is friendly with the US without relying too much on them,especially when it comes to avionics and missiles.Not putting all ur eggs in one basket so to speak..

Moreover,Saab is offering a very very good deal where they include two Erieye 2000s and take back all of our Migs and Hawks.I doubt Lockheed Martin can offer such a deal.

That is like killing three birds with one stone..reducing the number of types operated(F-5s+Mig-29+Hawk = Gripen NGs),getting sorted with Erieyes/datalinking and fulfilling the country's M-MRCA requirement.

The pool of combat pilots from three types can be merged into one,to fly the Gripen.

That fact escapes me..I have no idea.

What I know is based on what my insider tells me..no more,no less.The Selex ES05 is wholly european,so my guess is as good as yours.

I think Pakistan tak mau sebab other reasons..cost most probably.The NG started off with the Thales RBE2 AESA but later switched to the ES05 bcoz it offers a much better performance over the RBE2.That says a lot about the ES05.
And I think when u refer to Pakistan's jets,its probably a different type by Selex Galileo cuz the ES05 is still being developed and refined by Saab and Selex with the NG.

source code tuu tak silap pokcik untuk mission computer bukan radar. mission computer tuu macam windows operating system kat komputer kita. bila ada source code tuu maka mudah bagi kita untuk integrate onboard systems dan weapon systems from different source.

Yup,I know that.I see it as a system in totality..the soul of a fighter's weapon system is the radar,which then leads to other components.

In India's NG offer,one of the key component is total full access,which might also mean the source code will indeed be made available.Mind,India will be using mainly Israeli components,even the AESAradar which WILL come from ELTA Systems.

564# supergripen Huhu, yeah, it's an old aircraft but is still very capable and with upgrades, I do believe there's room for more. The same logic can be applied to F-15, it's way older than F-16 but the upgrades on F-15 SG can turn an old hag into a young hot sexy chick

But, that's excluding the offset package offered by both SAAB and Lockheed. In terms of best bang for buck, SAAB offers the sweetest deal for now. I'm just wondering, what are they gonna do if they trade in with our Migs, Hawks and F-5. Turning them into scrap metal or what? It seems, illogical to me, just my opinion though~

tumpang tanya sikit. how different is the airframe of the Gipen NG compared to the existing Gripen?

the only differences pokcik gather right now are super cruise engine and AESA radar. what else?

The main difference dari segi fizikal is that the NG's main gears are now housed in enlarged wing root areas,freeing up additional space in the fuselage for an additional 40% more internal fuel.the engine is now the F414G with 20% more thrust giving the NG supercruise capability at M1.1 with AAMs.Can the Rafale or the E/F Falcon(Block60) do that? Nope..

Additionally,the Gripen's belly now houses two parallel pylons,both able to carry nearly 1000kgs of load each,which means two large LGBs can be carried under the belly,or alternatively four SDBs,or two external tanks or even up to four AAMs.

All this means is that Saab was able to give the Gripen more range,more power,more weapons load,better avionics and weapons system in an airframe that is only ever so slightly bigger.Lateral thinking at it's best..

I love small powerful fighters with a big punch!
