En. Selimut Purple. Kalau nak bela binatang, kene la responsible. Sebab kita care pasal nyawa makhluk tuhan. So kalau dah silap, belajar dari kesilapan. Bukannya pertahankan ideologi yang salah.
Sepatutnya sebelum bela lagi dah buat research. Dah patut tau proper diet, cara penjagaan, proper cage and whatnot. Especially regarding breeding. Kene tahu betul-betul. Jangan just assume dia macam hamster. Sugar Glider ni bukan dalam family of rodents pun.
Ini tidak. Disuruhnya masuk WWF pulak. Aduhai... Sape yang berpemikiran kolot sekarang ni?

Ntah la Selimutpurple, aku dah maleh dah nak layan diorang nih...
Yg pasti aku dah berabis ratus ringgit beli SG & makanan dia yg mahal2 drp Petshack tuh....
Sebab apa aku beli food/diet tu w/p mahal? Sebab aku banyak gak baca & buat research pasal SG sebelum & setelah aku beli SG... so ade mamat yg duk asik syorkan beli pellet & mcm2 foods & diet drp Petshack... so atas dasar sayang & take care aku pd SG aku, maka aku beli la juga... tp yg pasti SG aku tak minat langsung makanan yg mahal2 drp Petshack yg aku beli tuh...
Aku pun tak akan masuk lagi thread nih lepas nih kerana thread ni penuh dgn orang2 yg pelik lagi memelikkan...
Diorang lebih prefer cari lawan daripada kawan hanya kerana SG!! |

aah, setuju jgk dgn aqie.. asl SG je gaduh,asl gaduh je sg,sian sg2 kat malaysia ni, tak tau lak pasal dorg boleh timbul perbalahanpulak..haha...aku tgk group pet lain ok je, happy..
rasanya kena buat post mortem ni ,check kat mana salahnyani..
btw, bukan nak menangkan tp fact.. aku rasa si glider niskrg tgh mintak advice.. jangan la blame dia tiba2.. sian SG si glider tu,last2 macam tu gak jadinya..kalo nak tegur mcm mana pon,kalau yg islam tu, adacaranya nak menegur kan..jangan diselubungi dgn emosi.. aku rasa lebih kesiandgn SG dia ,tak kisah la mcm mana pon background dia...selagi dia makhluk allahcipta jugak..
skrg ni pon,aku rasa takde faedah apa2 pun dapat dariperbalahan ni.. kalah jadi abu, menang jadi arang.. so why waste ur time nakberbalah2 kan? peace! |

Iye ke Aqie? Kalau iye, aku tak heran sebab memang ade ramai org yg pelik & memelikkan nih...
Tak per la Aqie, aku pon dah malas nak layan mereka nih, tak berfaedah langsung malah menyakitkan hati jer...
Macam yg aku cakap di atas tuh, mereka ni lebih suka mencari lawan drp mencari kawan... Kalau mereka berkawan pon ialah dengan kawan2 mereka yg pelik tuh... Ntah datang drp jungle mana pon aku tak pasti  ...

lagi satu, aku bukan xth sedikit sebyk pasal geng korg. klu xsilap aku, sugar glider lori prnh mati sebab terhempap dgn bdn dia. xdew pun sapew hentam dia sbb dia geng korg. cuba org lain, hbs ko hentam cukup2. lagi satu, xsalah aku 1st sugar glider eric pun prnh mati sbb tersalah bg makan mknn bertoxic. xdew pun org kecoh2 hentam dia. sebab apew, dia geng korg kan.
klu nak tegur org tu, tegurlah cara berkhemah, walaupun dia salah. betulkan dgn cr yg baik. kita bela sg ne nak cari ramai kawan n bertukar2 pendapat. bukan nak cari lawan atau musuh. tak elok org luar yg baca forum ne. mcm aqie ckp, asal forum sg jew gaduh, asal gaduh jew forum sg. asyik2 geng ne jew. klu lah korg bersikap terus mcm ne, org nak beli brg kat petshack pun fkr 10x, sbb tgk geng2 petshack mcm ne.
jadi lah mcm group pet2 lain, xde gaduh n cari pasal. kita buat group nak kumpul ramai kawan. klu kawan kita salah, kita tegur cr yg baik n bantu dia. xkisah lah dia dr group mana pun. |

cuba pikir mcm ni la, kalaulah org yg ckp tu mcm si glider tu ckp, org yg lebih tua , sng kata org yg kita hormat lah.mcm atuk ke,ayah ke, or cikgu..cuba kau 'tegur' skit mcm tu dgn dorg, sampai tak hati kau? kalau aku la kan, aku tak sampai hati.mcm accuse tu bunyinya..
sng kata ,apa2 tindakan yg kita nak buat, fikir kita in their shoes.. apa yg kita tak suka org wat kat kita, kita jgn buat kan org..ni kalau ckp kat mat rempit, mat rempit pon baran beb..
dekat sini ,ada satu petikan dari luqman hakim sbg peringatan even utk diri aku sndr..

pengajaran yg aku boleh terapkan dari petikan ni, walau mcm mana pandai sekali pun kita,jgn kita ingat dah cukup ilmu di dada, jgn kita meninggi diri, sbb pengetahuan org lain kita tak tau.. so, baik ikut resmi padi, makin berisi, makin tunduk.. lagi byk manfaat kita dpt kalau guna prinsip bertukar2 pendapat ..so hope sume boleh muhasabah diri termasuk aku lah skali ni walaupun thread ni pasal sugar glider.. |

Greetings Glider Groupies, Glider Newbies and Glider
Wanna-bes! Welcome to the March 2010 edition of the GliderVet News.
Sorry we're a bit late getting the newsletter to you this month,
but boy oh boy, we've had a lot going on.
Of course, we each had a turn at the flu bug this month, but that
didn't slow us down. What did slow us down was our color glider
expansion this month. We've just added leucistic and platinum
gliders to our color breeding program and they already have joeys
out of pouch!
So if our color choices have been too limited for you in the past,
check us out now! We also have a white tipped baby available this
month, so if you've been waiting for this elusive color to show up,

She will be ready to go to a new home in about two weeks!

We also attended the Global Pet Expo, a giant show with over 800
suppliers to the pet industry. These events target mostly the cat
and dog business, since there are so many of these pets out there.
And while I love dogs, I'm glad to be home because if I have to
look at one more uniquely designed pooper scooper, I think I may
just have to scream! But there were also a lot of small animal
vendors at the show and we did find a good number of new products
we will be bringing in for testing and review. We'll let you know
how some of these turn out in the upcoming months!
Now with all this stuff happening and this month quickly coming to
a close, we asked our Chief Executive Glider if he could pull the
weight this month. Much to my delight, Arnold has agreed to write
the whole newsletter, so read on as Arnold covers his favorite topic:
FOOD! But first a favorite of most of us two leggers: Vacation!

Glider Sitter during Vacation

Hi SunCoast,
I have 2 gliders and I'm going on a 2 week trip in May. I have
someone who will come in once each day to care for them, but I
would rather leave them with a family that has gliders. Can you
supply me with names or email addresses of owners in my area? We're
going out of the country so I can't take them along like we do when
traveling by car.

So sorry, but me can't really do that. Our customers and contacts
are protected by our privacy policy. Usually the best way to make
contacts like that is on the message boards like:

But methinks having someone come to your home is fine. Yer 2
gliders have each other to meet their social needs, so they don't
really need people around. Strange people are not going to fill
any void really, only their "regular" people. Stick with the house
sitter and they should be fine. The only time me might hear of real
problems (other than something irresponsible by the house sitter)
is with single kept gliders (we can go a bit beserk when left alone).

Corn is a Four Letter Word

Dear Arnold,
I'm confused about certain foods and whether they are OK to feed
sugar gliders. In particular, I see people talking about feeding
them corn, and I see that some of the manufactured glider foods
use corn in them - even as the main ingredient!
Also, a vet said this:

For example, carrots and corn are both vegetables, but they
have significantly different food and vitamin values when
consumed. Carrots are rich in vitamin A, which is very good for
your sugar glider when offered in the right form and amounts. Corn,
on the other hand, has a high phosphorus ratio and too much of this
vegetable can actually elevate disease opportunity in your pet.

But I am thinking, actually, corn is NOT a vegetable, it's a grain,
which raised a question in my mind about this vet's research
/ knowledge. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just making an
observation, while looking for definitive answers for my darling
little fuzzies on what all is OK to feed them. Please help!

Yers is one of me favorite emails all month! Me don't think youz
a jerk! Me luvs ya for bringing up such a fun topic.First off,
yer right! Corn is a grain!
But the vet is right too! Corn is a veggie!
And now me says corn is really a fruit .. Did you know that?
Me knows me corn facts and actually corn has the qualities of a
vegetable and a grain and a fruit ...
Since most people call corn a vegetable (and its sold in the veggie
section of the grocery store), we're fine with calling it such
around here ... But we also like all the facts ... Like youz do!
And after all this and what is it, please don't feed corn. Me gets
sad to say this cuz me tasted the niblets and fell in love, but

Dear Arnold,
I'm really confused about the diet. Some people talk about feeding
their sugar gliders mealworms and some websites say never to feed
bugs. Some people feed bugs every day and some people say you
shouldn't do it every day. It seems like the more I read online,
and even in books, the more confused I get!
Can you help me figure this out?

'cuz lots of peeps are confused about glider care stuff and you
came to the right place to get it all cleared up.
Now we suggies luv us a good mealie worm! After all, we are
classified insectivore / gummivore, which means we eat insects in
the wild (when they are plentiful) and we eat tree gum, sap and
manna when the bugs are not around. So ya see, given the choice,
bugs is what we want to eat first.
So, doesn't it make sense this is what you should feed us too?
Ya really can't ask us to be 'sumptin different than what the Mother
of all Nature made us, right?
But while we suggies luv us a good mealie worm, some of us are
really health conscious, like me! So lemme make this simple for you.
Mealworms to suggies are like red meat to hoomans! In 'nuther
words, maybe not something you should eat twice a day, every day
'cuz it's a bit high in fat, but once or twice a week should be OK.
There are other proteins besides mealie worms that are yummy to us
and good fer us too! My suggested weekly diet, see here:

consists of other proteins like crickets, boiled chicken, boiled
eggs and yogurt. Me likes em all! Moderation is our motto!
Too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing!

To 'mealworms', i don't know who are you, but jus to clarify, my first glider was died on 2004/2005, and the causes of death is not because of ingesting poisonous food. I hope you get your information from reliable source in future before mentioning my name in public forum. thanks alot. |
