    KJ, aku pon nak tau benda yg sama since kita org dah book on mid Oct2011. Plan nak guna campervan jer. Masa singkat tapi teringin nak cover south island.

Soalan aku pulak utk Fatt atau sesapa yg boleh tolong ,

1. macam mana berurusan dgn campervan park utk satu kawasan pelancongan tu ? Perlu kena booking ker atau boleh walk in jer ?
2. Adakah mesti kena stay kat campervan park yg disediakan atau kita boleh park kat mana2 kawasan lapang kalau tak berurusan dgn dumpstation atau water refill.

aku pi end of sept aritu byk lg snow.. naik bus dr franz josef ke queenstown kat kawasan pergunungan jln penuh dgn snow jer, nasib baik jln tk kena tutop . kat queenstown kawasan ski tu kan ade snow.. kalu tk pun ko try jer naik queenstown hill, kat atas tu still covered by snow.. tk kena trekking naik bukit la, mcm aku buat aritu..

Actually nak mintak opinion from rakan-rakan yang dah ke sana. Saya dan other half dah book ticket ke New Zealand, bertolak dari KL on 5th Sept 2011 dan balik semula ke M'sia on 19th Sept. Memang clash dgn Rugby World Cup, tu yg kena make preparation quite early to avoid hassle kat sana nanti.

Actually my other half memang study di Univ of Waikato dulu, but that was quite long time ago. So nak juga tanya pendapat those yg ada disana recently or just visited recently. Memang 2 weeks tak cukup nak cover both South and North island, but since he was in Waikato for 6 yrs since his undergraduate years all thru his Master, he still want to go back to north island just to walk down memory lane. So nak tak nak kami kena lah squeeze the time to cover both islands.

This will be our planned itinerary, appreciate comments from you guys

5/9 : depart from KL @ 23:30

6/9 : arrived @ christchurch @ 13:55. Take car. The rest of the day will be rest and light jalan2 in christchurch.

7/9 : bertolak awal-awal pagi fr Christchurch, destination will be Queenstown. On the way we will drive pass by :
- Lake Tekapo [226km, time taken 3hr 30mins] - have little rest
- from Lake Tekapo to Wanaka [200km, time taken 2hr 30min] - spend abt 2 hr
- from Wanaka to Arrowtown [55km, time taken 45min] - spend some time till late evening
- from Arrowtown to Queenstown [21km, time taken 20mins] - end the day

8/9 : Queenstown free and easy - yg ni decide kemudian lah apa nak buat. Drop our car at the end of the day.

9/9 : Take coach and cruise to Milford Sound - this will take the whole day

10/9 : @ 9:55am, board Jetstar flight to Auckland. Arrive in Auckland @11:35am. Pick our car, jalan2 sikit @ Auckland, then petang drive to Hamilton [125km, time taken 1hr 45min]. End the day @ Hamilton.

11/9 : Hamilton will be the centre of our visit, as my other half studied at Waikato dulu and wants to walk down memory lane. So it will be more of visiting where he used to be lah kot.

12/9 :
- Drive from Hamilton to  Waitomo Caves to visit the caves [72km, time taken 1hr]
- Later in the afternoon, drive from Waitomo Caves to Rotorua [140km, time taken 2hr]
- End the day at Rotorua

13/9 : Tour in Rotorua to cover its Maori culture and biothermal activities.

14/9 :
- early morning drive from Rotorua to Lake Taupo [82km, time taken 1hr]. Spend some time at Lake Taupo.
- Later that afternoon, drive to Palmerston North. This is just a stop as wanted to shorten the journey. [242km, time taken 3hr].
- Palmerston North to Wellington. Spend the time in Wellington. [142km, time taken 2hr]. Appreciate suggestions on where to spend time in Wellington. [we might cut the journey at Palmerston North, and drive to Wellington the next morning, which means we will cut next stay at Christchurch]

15/9 : Take ferry from Wellington @8.25am crossing over Cook Straits to Picton and arrived @ Picton @ 11am++. Then drive from Picton to Kaikoura [157km, time taken 2hr]. Spend time in Kaikoura and night in Kaikoura.

16/9 : Early morning, drive from Kaikoura to Christchurch [181km, time taken 2hr 30min]. We will do some visiting during the day at CCH. Christchurch will be my centre of visit, as I studied in Canterbury, UK, which is the twin city of Christchurch, Canterbury, NZ. So just wanted to see the similarities between the two. For the first day, we want to spend our night in a farmhouse in Christchurch.

17/9 : We might take hot air balloon before sunrise in Christchurch, later go to Lyttleton Harbour to board the Christchurch Wildlife Cruise in the afternoon to see marine wildlife eg dolphin, seal, or if lucky the whales

18/9 : Going to places around Christchurch, perhaps to Akaroa [80km, time taken 1hr] for the historic French village, volcanic sea cliffs etc. Suggestions appreciated for other nice places nearby.

19/9 : Balik Malaysia.

Appreciate your comment, suggestions on where to stay, where to find food etc.

    wah..2 weeks tuh...  well.. kire ok laa tuh kot utk cover both.. (x pernah lagi roudn2 kat north except auckland city je)..
kan kalau pergi 1 month pon..org akan ckp x cukup.. i guess 2 weeks ok la.. eventho x dpt cover the whole 2 islands..
north x leh nak komen sgt.. yg south tu..from CHC to queenstown..u akan go thru lake tekapo/wanaka/arrowtown/queenstown..
tuh rasenye mmg take the whole day.. kalau stop pon x leh lame..  like my case..tolak dari CHC kul 9 am.. sampai queenstown kul 7pm.. tuh pon skip wanaka... (along the way kite org bnyk stop amik gambar. huhuhu)

Hehe.. nak cover both islands punya pasal, sampai kena cut tengah2 tu dan kena ambik domestic flight je ke Auckland. Alangkah best kalau dapat naik campervan je around both islands, tapi tak sempat.

Thanks fadhil. Was thinking about that too.. dari CCH ke Queenstown tu mcm byk sgt stop, takut tak sempat. If you tak stop Wanaka pun sampai kol 7pm kat Queenstown, kitorang kena bertolak kol 6 pagi lah kot kalo nak stop gak kat Wanaka haha. We are considering also to extend one day in Queenstown, perhaps Wanaka dan Arrowtown tu allocate one day just for that 2 stops. To make up for the one extra day, kami nak cut lah kot the day spent in CCH before balik Malaysia tu. Kat CCH tu lama, 3 hari, maybe boleh cut jadi 2 hari and extend one day extra kat Queenstown instead.

Hari tu ada tengok your journey stay kat farmhouse kat Cromwell, nampak cam best. Ada terfikir nak singgah situ jugak, tapi cam tak ada extra days

Salam ... Nak tanya forumers kat sini ... Aritu saya baca thread New Zealand Part 1 ni (posted by Awekgemok), dia pegi LOTR tour harganya NZD95 for 4 hours. Bila saya check website harga dia more than NZD 100 dan ada yang sampai NZD 500 (kalau tak salah laa). Saya nak tanya yang LOTR tour harga NZD 95 ni nak book kat mana ye? Atau saya sampai Queenstown saya boleh book. Mintak tolong sapa2 boleh jawap

a'ah aku naik flight lompat2 gi balik .. tu yg takut maggie/kopi segera aku tak leh lepas masa kat airport nanti .. huhu yelah, nak cari nasi kat NZ sure takde, takkan hari2 nak makan roti, tak lalu ler aku ..

masa beli tiket tuh ingat dah murah ler, tak tahu lak AA ada planning nak gi sini .. tahun ni gak dia keluar .. tension aku

kekek, ko dah bosan ker ngan NZ .. aku rasa dulu ko cakap nak duk sini kan, skrg dah selalu gi tak jadik lak ker? tp tak kisah ler kan, kat mana pun kita, baik lagi negara sendiri .. biar pun hari2 aku asyik maki hamun lalu lintas negara kita yg selalu jammed ni XD

   kalo ikut general knowledge aku yg tak pernah pegang salji ni. october dekat NZ takde salji dahhh. yg ada waktu winter aje kan time june.

rasanya October dah takde salji kot. Winter season June - August. Hari tu my friend pegi End May dah ada salji TIPIS kat ski area. Tp
tak leh main ski lagi sbb salji sikit giler. View pun xlawa sbb masih tgk batu2. October dah Spring. I p July mmg salji meriah kat ski area. Tapi tetap la tak merasa salji turun dari langit. T__T

actually oct dah masuk spring...kalau ada pun belah2 south...tp kat ski park, kene drive naik atas kalau nak rasa..tak semstinya main ski...nak main snow pun boleh..lepak2 tgk org main ski, minum hot choc ke...syok gak

kalau middle tu tak brp pasti sbb snow mcm tahun ni agak pelik skit..mcm haritu ada snow turun lagi even dah masuk oct..so keep ur finger cross


apapun, awk boleh cek bila skifileld tutup..just google "coronet peak" sbb dlm ni dia akan bgtau smpai bila skifiled bukak..skifield ni pun bukak kalau snow cukup tebal...okeh. hope this info will help

maggie kalau brand maggie ni boleh..tp kdg2 ikut kastam tu..tp ko bc doa bebanyak biar dia tak de soalan utk ko..kopi aku tak pasti bleh lepas ke tak..

ada jual la beras kat sini, dia bungkus dlm paket kecik2 utk 1kg...nanti ada masa aku amik gmbar aku tepek..harga pun reasonable..dlm $2-3 dollar je..


ko masak nasik dalam microwave je..boleh..jadi cantik je mcm nasik kat periuk tu...aku slalu buat gini sebab sini mana la sng nak cari periuk nasik..


aku pun no idea la..in a minute aku suka dok cni, in a second, aku tak suka..NZ ni retirement country...hahaha..nak retired meh dok cni..beli tanah luas mcm ladang, bela kambing...hah...duk la..kalau mingle around asian aku rasa ok lagi sbb org asian ada skit part malu tu..kalau omputih ni bkn reti malu..camne ek aku nak cite..susah..sbb kalau ko duk cni ko akan paham la apa maksud aku...
