Minister: Sexual abuse allegations ‘unfair’ to Kazim Elias
BERUAS, Aug 27 — The people should cease making allegations of sexual abuse in connection with a religious school owned by Datuk Mohammad Kazim Elias as it was unfair to the celebrity preacher, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid. He said such allegations would only give a bad impression on the preacher and the school, Maahad Tahfiz Darul Baraqah. “Let the police complete their investigations into the case,” he told reporters after opening the Beruas Umno delegates meeting here today. Claims that several new students of the school were implicated in a sexual assault (sodomy), had recently gone viral in social media. Mohammad Kazim has lodged a police report over the allegations. — Bernama Malay Mail Online | Malaysia
