Agger was long linked to a transfer to a big club, and in the January 2006 transfer window, Agger got his wish and was looking to join Premier League team Liverpool, the defending UEFA Champions League champions of Europe.[5] Daniel Agger did not travel with his Brøndby teammates for their winter training camp in January and on 12 January 2006 he signed a 4½ year contract with Liverpool. The £6,000,000 transfer deal made him the most expensive footballer sold by a Danish club to a foreign club.[6]

Luis Suarez voted player of the month for January, by ESPN FC
ESPN FC had the whole planet to choose from, not just the Premier League, when they announced Luis Suarez as player of the month for January.
Presumably Suarez’s cause was helped by the fact Liverpool legend Steve Nicol was on the panel and he argues vociferously for the Uruguayan on the video above.
In truth, Suarez’s January was decent but not as swashbuckling as his December where he broke a Premier League record for goals in a month.
Luis Suarez claimed four Liverpool goals in seven matches during January.
Dnipro’s executive director is “1000% sure” Liverpool will try and sign Yevhen Konoplyanka in the summer
Andriy Rusol, Dnipro’s executive director, likes to talk.
A couple of days after Rusol told the Ukrainian media that the reason Yevhen Konoplyanka failed to move to Liverpool in January was because Liverpool never paid up, the suit has again been chatting to local press about what he thinks will happen in the future.
Perhaps because Rusol wants to Liverpool or a third party to up the bid for Konoplyanka in the summer, the Dnipro executive director has made it clear that negotiations for any deal are well and truly welcome at the club.
Rusol told Ukraine’s Football 1:
There was no time to organize the technical transfer. Yevhen’s all ahead now. If he continues to train the same and play the way he plays, it’s just a matter of time before he moves to a good European club. I’m a thousand percent sure that Liverpool will attempt to buy Yevhen again in the summer. And, after this experience, the dealings will be more organised, and more likely to success. If they had come a little earlier things would have been different.
