Laporta Unfazed About Rijkaard Rumours

With the grapevine rustling with talk of Frank Rijkaard either taking a sabbatical year off or heading back to AC Milan as Carlo Ancelotti? replacement, Barcelona President Joan Laporta is looking at ways to keep the Dutch tactician at Bar? beyond 2009.

"Right now we?e got the best Coach in the world and we?e really proud of that. There? a contract that links him to the club until 2009, and, if I could choose, I? lengthen that date as he? somebody who shares our vision of how this club should progress", explained Laporta.

Rijkaard himself has been vague and ambiguous about his future at Camp Nou, refusing to confirm that he?l stay or drop the bombshell that he? leaving.  Despite the lack of certainty shown by the tactician, Laporta is confident that the current Coach will stay.

"Frank is a man with a lot of character and he? happy at Bar? as he? repeatedly said because he? not a man who resorts to lies. The day he feels that he needs to move on he?l say so in no uncertain terms and we?l take it from there, but right now he? with us and we?e grateful for that", explained the exec.
