DOCTOR SLEEP 2019 (The Shining 1980 Sequel)

Doctor Sleep is an upcoming American horror film based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Stephen King. Ewan McGregorstars as Danny Torrance, a man with psychic powers who struggles with alcoholism. The film is written and directed by Mike Flanagan.

King's novel Doctor Sleep is a sequel to his 1977 horror novel The Shining, in which the character Danny Torrance first appears as a child with psychic powers called "the shining". The Shining was adapted into a 1980 horror film of the same name by director Stanley Kubrick. While the film Doctor Sleep is a direct adaptation of King's novel, Flanagan said that Kubrick's The Shining would be acknowledged in part.

Warner Bros. Pictures began developing a film adaptation shortly after the novel was published. Writer-producer Akiva Goldsmanwrote a script, but the studio did not secure a budget for the film until the box office success of its 2017 horror film It, also based on a novel by King. Flanagan was hired to rewrite Goldsman's script and direct the film. Filming began in September 2018 in the state of Georgia, including Atlanta and the surrounding area, and concluded in December 2018.

Warner Bros. plans to release Doctor Sleep in theaters in the United States on November 8, 2019.

Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) becomes winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer's block. He settles in along with his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and his son, Danny (Danny Lloyd), who is plagued by psychic premonitions. As Jack's writing goes nowhere and Danny's visions become more disturbing, Jack discovers the hotel's dark secrets and begins to unravel into a homicidal maniac hell-bent on terrorizing his family.

u dah tgk T Shining x? i blum tgk lg...tp hari tu tgk short clip je scene yg danny naik tricycle die dlm hotel tu...then terserempak dgn twin girls tu..
then ade blood gore scene...

i was like...hhhmmm....x tgk pun xpe kot dlm trailer kat atas tu..bersih pulak..xde setitik darah pun...classy....

vibe yg sangat berbeza dari the shining..beberapa elemen dari movie the shining versi Kubrick ada dimasukkan pada part awal dengan part2 akhir.. movie tu memang ikonik sebab dia build up fear in viewers slowly.. dan klimaks pada ending dia.. tapi doctor sleep ni ending mcm caca marba sikit..

kekuatan utama doctor sleep ni lakonan menjadi ewan mcgreggor.. pertengahan movie paling menarik.. tapi part last dah dragged dan membosankan..

overall masih menghiburkan, tapi doctor sleep tak scary mcm the shining.. part yg semua Overlook Hotel’s ghosts keluar tu pun tak scary.. lady in the bath tub yg jadi star dlm the shining pun berulang2 keluar.. jadi effect seram dah takde.... mcm lawak pun ada lagi2 masa last keluar sebelum closing scene

ada juga beberapa perubahan dari novel doctor sleep.. prefer versi novel lagi dari movie

Ok nasib baik aku tgk movie ni, hampir2 je taknak tgk sbb baca review kat sini. So bg aku mmg best n x mngecewakan lngsung. Mula2 aku ingt ni citer hantu seram wlupun ada hantu(aku x pnh tgk the shining, jap lg nak tgk).

Tapi rasanya x focus pun kt hantu tu semua tp lbh focus kt 1 kump cult ni... jahat diorg ni mcm penyembah setan( andaian aku). Bunuh kanak2 bagai n Ada scene yg kejam n sadis x sngup nk tgk.  

So cter dia simple n mudah faham wlupun ada kekurangan mcm knpa kump jahat ni mcm miskin je duk dlm hutan sptutnya diorg ni golongn vvip bpengaruh? Lpstu senang lak diorg ni smua mati. Apapun puas ati la pihak baik kali ni x lembek hebat bdak ppuan tu n happy ending.

Agree, Citer ni memang best. Nasib baik tak terpengaruh juga dgn review kat sini. Tak mengantuk pun sepanjang 2jam lebih. Engaging dan thrill terutama masa cult knots tu dah mula nk cari Abra. Overall bole kasik 5/5 stars

Kan.... aku baru tgk the shining so aku rasa dr sleep ni lg best. The shining cter dia simple sgt n x rasa bdebar pun mngkin sbb tgk kt pc kut.

mmg PERFECT la..dari semua aspek..cast yg bagus2..lakonan superb..directing, visual effects, cinematography, screenplay, plot..sgt2 terbaik!

suke sgt approach mcm ni, slow and steady tp tahap terror tu at another level!!...chillingly disturbing..
xde style old school 80s horror movie yg penuh blood, gore & violence.. menjerit sana sini..dgn musik background yg sgt over hahaha...

Yes..u..mmg i tercari2 opening scene, yg i jumpe dlm klip no 3 kat atas tu...kalau u all ni ade anak2 kecik baik jgn tgk..la movie ni..

Ya u..The most terrifying scene part yg 19/ baseball boy kena culik sampai la roh die kena simpan dlm btol besi tu.....He all punye scream..oh, my..sounded so real..masa die mula menjerit je i terus cabut my headphone... Honestly from my own experience selama bertahun2 tgk horror movies ni..i x pernah dengar this kind of scream...even since Nightmare On Elm Street..this is the worst scream..it will haunt u 4ever!!

I terus teringat Jennifer's Body, scene yg megan fox kena culik masuk hutan..& dijadikan korban...this scene pun masa i tgk dulu..this is too much..

Mmg movie nii kena dengar perbualan they all dgn khusyuk..byk actually Quotes yg menarik tp manja x dpt cari..I rs Danni was referring to golongan Elite/the untouchables tu walaupun xde kaitan dgn Rose the Hat & her cult The Knot dlm filem ni (sihir sgt dah ni..terang & jelas, mmg dlm satanict cult percaya budak2 kecik ade roh/darah yg suci yg bleh mengekalkan awek muda satanist ni semua..that is Satanict Ritual Class 101 )..

Manja pun x bleh move on..ape la nk jadi dgn kite ni.....i ade byk lg nk story...
