KUALA LUMPUR: Rock singer and actor Datuk Awie may be hugely popular, but he hopes that fans, especially the young ones, keep away from him for their mutual safety this Hari Raya season. "I just didn't feel good when my doorbell rang on the first day of Hari Raya recently. And then, I heard the voices of children saying 'nak raya, nak raya'. "My children subsequently came out and apologised to the youngsters and told them that we were not receiving any visitors due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO)," said Awie in a news report yesterday. "It's strange that some parents have allowed their children to visit others despite the threat of the deadly coronavirus. I didn't know where these children came from. "Sorry folks, I've got to be strict here, we are not accepting any visitors this year for our mutual safety." Awie admitted that he only accepted a handful of visitors - his siblings, and only visited an elder sister who lived nearby. "A couple of close family friends visited me for a short while on the second day of Hari Raya. I decided not to receive too many guests, to be safe and also to ensure that nobody made police reports against me for not observing the CMCO. "It is better to be safe than sorry during this festive season. I don't want an 'Awie cluster' to emerge!"
