Halilintar....... I'm wondering.... walaupun now KYS kasi pakai tudung, but pendekatan agama kat situ sekarang sekadar buat syarat, atau pun  sama seperti sekolah2 lain?

Which would you suggest.... studying in SBP/MRSM...... or in KYS?

A'ah...i called it 5 hell years haha (not quite, maybe for some it's heaven years)

U are trapped inside there, all you got  to do is study,study,study...no way you could find a way out ( popular term's among boarding school, "fly" never existed there,u are surrounded by rubber-estate,how on earth can you sneak out? )

Overall...yeah it's an awesome experience.Social life memang open sket kat sana,kalau awak extrovert type,memang sesuai untuk awak.

Once a fortnight,ada movie at Grand Hall (tapi last time saya dgr dah dipindah ke Ampiteater)

Makan 6 time a day,including supper and dinner.Every Friday's dinner,ada special occasion (called High-Dinner), at least a VIP would turn up and had dinner alongside us.

Class started at 7.40,all the way to 11.00,we had tea-break for 20 minutes,11.20 resumed..until 1.20. Evening session start pkl 2.50 sampai 4.10. Petang wajib turun sport...dorm kena clear (satu dorm ada around 12 person)

Malam macam biasa ada prep-class,8.00 sampai 10.30.Kalau ada special occasion,selalunya malam Sabtu,prep dibatalkan.

Kalau nak tanya pendapat saya,i highly recommmend awak pergi KYS.

Believe me,you wont regret it.Agama dia memang kurang sket,tapi tak la sampai sekadar cukup syarat.

Facilities kat sana memang 1st class,fully air-conditioned...awak cuma study jek,benda lain tak payah risau.Conversation mainly in English. KYS memang tekankan English and Music, awak wajib mahir at least one instrument.

Trust me...agama approach kat sana tak seperti yang awak gambarkan.Lagi banyak yang awak ble blaja kat sana berbanding boarding school lain (MRSM and all sort) Ramai anak VIP kat sana,so you get to know and learn very much from them.

since mereka tekankan music, those this mean that siapa yang tiada background music susah nak dapat masuk KYS?

Knowing how to play music instruments give you a bit of an edge over others.

I do know this since I was rejected by KYSM for their form 1 intake (3-4 years ago) in their final interview process at the campus,and the interviewer put a bit of emphasis on asking me if I knew how to play any music instruments..lol... (which I sadly don't)

The Math questions for the selection test is definitely not on par of primary school level - I didn't answered almost a quarter of it, beats me at how they chose me for the final interview process.

From what i could see 3-4 years ago, the study environment is great, yeh, it's an excellent campus with good facilities and (I presumed) teachers.

Not really...i know nothing about music before (i came from cerok Kedah..main kastanet ble la haha)

To verticalforce...knowing to play music instruments won't give you extra edge over others (me as example).Tapi hairan jugak why u were not selected,maybe ada reason lain.

Math questions tu memang tough...but one of my friends managed to get full mark (he's genius..no doubt about that)

During my time,allocation for students ialah 70:30...meaning 70% from lower,moderate class families...and another 30% from upper class (of course saya dari 70% tu).Tapi skang don't know...

aku penah sampai gak KYS yang dkt lembah beringin tuh...because my cousin jd lecturer kat sana...memang ceruk alam...dan kat lembah beringin tuh takde apa2 langsung..cuma ada kolej nih jer..kalo nak study memang best sebab senyap sunyi..dan facilities dia mmg 1st class...aku tgk studentnye hostel mcm chalet sket..rumah satu2, siap ada aircond..

mungkin jugak ada sebab lain hallintar because at that time, personality-wise I was a bit shy and it didn't came across well in the interview, not to mention that in my batch there are too many excellent candidates that either have grade 8 piano certificate, represented their state for swimming competition and other achievements that I don't and will never get to display...lol....

(rasanya at that time , KYS nih tgh boom so banyak gila orang apply)

All's well that ends well I guess... currently I'm in Scotland pursuing my secondary education (following my parents) and although my public school is kind of crappy (in comparison to top schools in Malaysia), the education system here is one heck of a lot less stressful than Malaysia...

Just finished my Standard Grade or what Malaysians are calling O lvl.... I must have studied for it less than UPSR and still came out with quite  a decent results. Malaysians put too much emphasis on those bloody certificates when what count in the world of jobs are your soft skills.
