PERSIAN - HIMALAYAN / EXOTIC SHORTHAIR (PER/EXO)
This cobby breed, with small ears and huge, round eyes,
is considered the most popular breed in Malaysia,
as they make up almost 60 to 75% of cats shown in pedigreed shows.
In fact the Persian, Himalayan and the Exotic Shorthair all share a common standard and type.
The difference between a Persian and a Himalayan is that the Persian is a
non-pointed longhaired  cat, while the Himalayan is a pointed Persian.
The Exotic Shorthair on the other hand is a shorthaired Persian in type.
Though it may be popular, the longhaired Persian/Himalayan requires frequent attention,
and daily grooming is essential especially in humid Malaysia.
They should ideally be kept in a very well ventilated cattery with much airflow.
Ideally all cats, either Persian or not, pedigree or non-pedigree, they should be kept indoors.
