4 June 2012: In a simple ceremony at the Lingkana Palace, the heads of the armed forces, staff of His Majesty’s Secretariat and many Bhutanese taxi drivers led by the Taxi Association office bearers, gathered to wish Her Majesty Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck on her birth anniversary.
Around 40 taxi drivers offered Tashi Khaddar (white scarves) to the Gyaltsuen. According to the taxi association, the members felt both privileged and humbled to be given the opportunity to wish Her Majesty.
They offered prayers for her long life and happiness.
Her Majesty granted audience and high tea.

5 June 2012: His Majesty the King rode a bicycle along the Thimphu Norzin Lam to mark the first ever "Pedestrian Day" (every Tuesday hence forth). Only buses, taxis, armed force vehicles, emergency or service vehicles, and bicycles are allowed from 8 AM to 6 PM in the core Thimphu city area.

compared to this queen, Malaysian queens mcm tak mesra rakyat. Malah raja pun mcm tu. Apakah kerana terlalu protokol menjadikan kemesraan terlihat terlalu official. Mereka approach rakyat dgn gaya ke rajaannya shng hilang kehumbleannya.
So far raja yg mesra rakyat ialah sultan Johor, Kelantan n Terengganu. Sultan2 lain jarang dengar beramah mesra dgn rakyat jelata. |
