Salman Khan attends Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere, is the war over?

Salman was an unexpected presence at the grand premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan
It must be hard being Salman Khan at the moment. Famously loyal to his friends, Salman has buddies on both sides of the Son Of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan divide. Just a few days ago, Salman made it clear he was on pal Ajay Devgn's side with this tweet: "Pathan Ke Yaar Se Panga Mat lena. Sorry yaar..Diwali bekaar without Son of Sardaar"
But last night, his was an unexpected presence at the grand premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan attended by the who's who of Bollywood. Fellow celebrity guest Amitabh Bachchan tweeted this morning: T 930 - Danced my shoes off with all the youngsters .. an amazing evening... spending time with Salman, Aamir, Shahrukh, Katrina and Anushka.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan, of course, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman's sworn enemy ever since they infamously came to blows at Katrina Kaif's birthday party four years ago. Then again, it also stars Katrina herself, Salman's ex-girlfriend, his co-star in blockbuster film Ek Tha Tiger and who is treated as an ad-hoc member of Salman's family. Ek Tha Tiger was also a Yash Raj film. And so Salman attended an SRK event - Bollywood history of sorts.
Notably absent from the premiere was actress Kajol, once a frequent Yash Raj and Shah Rukh collaborator and now married to Ajay Devgn.
Ajay and Yash Raj Films have been at legal loggerheads these last few weeks with Ajay accusing YRF of keeping his film Son Of Sardaar out of theatres in favour of their own film. A petition lodged with the Competition Commission was rejected, as was Ajay appeal to the Appellate Tribunal.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan also stars Anushka Sharma, in addition to SRK and Katrina. Director Yash Chopra died of dengue-related complications on October 21, three weeks before his last film released.

Kajol’s no-show at Yash Chopra’s swan song

Most of the lovely ladies who worked with Yash Chopra and Yashraj Films, including the elusive Sadhana, showed up for the Doyen's swan song. Only Kajol, the heroine who worked in Yashraj's most successful film to date Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge didn't show up, leading to muted whispers across the huge august gathering that evening to pay homage to a man who wrote and rewrote many celluloid romance.
While a leading man very close to Yashraj says Kajol was not invited for the premiere at all (in keeping with the box-office feud that her husband Ajay Devgn had precipitated) a leading lady close to Aditya Chopra and his banner vehemently protests in Aditya Chopra's defence. "Kajol was most certainly invited. And I believe she had every intention of coming. There was no pressure from her husband Ajay Devgn not to attend the premiere. However Adi being one of her closest friends, didn't pressurise Kajol to attend the premiere . From what I know Adi left the option to attend or not to attend entirely with Kajol. She finally decided to give it a skip because she wanted to avoid unnecessary controversies. Also, all said and done, her loyalty is with her husband and his film."
Kajol's absence at the premiere was palpable. In his beloved father's absence it was presumed by all the distinguished invitees that Aditya Chopra would play the host of the evening along with the rest of the Chopra family.
Aditya Chhopra maintainted a very low profile throughout the evening. Even later at the after-party that was held after the premiere on another floor of the Yashraj Studios, Aditya Chopra made just a fleeting appearance and then vanished.
However the evening went off like a charm. The theatre for the screening was constructed like an opera theatre with layered acoustics and a decor that nudged the finest opera theatres in Paris. Guests were seated in two areas. One on a slightly higher level where actors and filmmakers closely associated with Yash Raj sat including of course the Bachchan family. Curiously Ashutosh Gowariker and R. Balki who have never been associated with Yashraj were also seated in the "family area".
Lower down outside the "family area" one could see Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan who have worked in Yashraj's Mujhse Dosti Karogi and Fanaa.
Says an invitee, "These are minor issues. The arrangement was impeccable. Pam aunty greeted each and every guest personally. And it was wonderful to see heroines closely associated with the banner including Sadhana and Saira Banu present to pay a final homage to Yashji. Some of us wept openly when with the end - credits shots of Yashji shooting Jab Tak Hai Jaan came on."

Kajol makes back-door entry at Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere
It was a fitting tribute to Bollywood's king of romance. The premiere of late filmmaker Yash Chopra's last directorial film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, at Yash Raj Studios, was as grand as it gets.
Bollywood's biggest names, among them his friends, family and all the actresses who have played his leading ladies, were present to make the evening memorable.
Kajol, however, made a sly entry, avoiding the media and coming in using the back entrance, accompanied by the eternally shutter-shy Aditya Chopra.
The first ones to arrive were Pam Chopra with son Uday. Shortly, they were joined by the cast — Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
In a hark back to old-school Bollywood, they stood at the entrance welcoming every single guest.
Karan Johar said that the venue had two colours — red and white — to signify romance and a sense of loss, respectively.
Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, and Prem Chopra and his wife, were also among the earliest guests.
Scheduled to start at 8 pm, the premiere was postponed by an hour, as everyone waited for the Bachchans — Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya — besides Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla, to arrive.
Aamir Khan came with wife Kiran Rao, who addressed the media and greeted Shah Rukh and the rest of the cast. Farah Khan surprised everyone by wearing a sari.
