Westar Aviation meterai kontrak helikopter RM550 juta

LANGKAWI - Westar Aviation Sdn. Bhd. (Westar Aviation) mengumumkan pembelian enam helikopter jenis AW139 dari firma AugustaWestland pada Pameran Antarabangsa Udara dan Maritim (LIMA'13) di sini hari ini.
Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan itu, Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim berkata, pembelian tersebut bagi operasi syarikat cari gali minyak Tullow Oil di Mauritania.
Katanya, ini adalah pelanggan antarabangsa pertama WestarAviation yang merupakan penyedia perkhidmatan udara terbesar bagi industri carigali minyak serantau.

LANGKAWI- Industri aeroangkasa tempatan akan mendapat manfaat menerusi pelbagai program kerjasama termasuk perkongsian teknologi daripada pembelian pesawat pejuang yang menggantikan MiG29N nanti.
Menteri Pertahanan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi pada sidang akhbar di Pameran Antarabangsa Udara dan Maritim (LIMA '13) hari ini berkata, syarat itu perlu dipatuhi agar negara tidak sekadar menjadi penggguna tetapi sebaliknya sebagai rakan kongsi industrial. - KOSMO!

Nuri dinaik taraf untuk bantu operasi tempur ATM

LANGKAWI - Kementerian Pertahanan akan menaik taraf kesemua 30 helikopter Nuri agar boleh diguna dalam membantu misi tempur untuk tempoh 12 tahun lagi.
Menteri Pertahanan Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi pada sidang akhbar pada Pameran Antarabangsa Udara dan Maritim (LIMA'13) hari ini berkata, proses naik taraf ini melibatkan penggantian kepada sistem paparan digital, kotak gear termaju dan bilah kipas.
Difahamkan keseluruhan program ini melibatkan kos kira-kira RM500 juta yang akan dilakukan oleh firma selenggaraan pesawat tempatan.

LIMA 2013 : DRB-HICOM Ink MoU With SAAB
DRB-HICOM signed an MoU with SAAB AB which outline an industrial cooperation to look into areas of technology and expertise transfer to Malaysia. The MoU broadens and deepens the existing relationship between the companies which has already signed an Industrial Cooperation Teaming Agreement at LIMA 2011 to collaborate on AEW&C system.
Through the MoU, both parties have agreed to explore the various areas of cooperation that include the design and manufacture of composite systems and components for both military and commercial aerospace application, composite repair technology and system integration of electronic warfare, avionics and other airborne systems.

DRB-Hicom, Saab AB ink MoU on industrial cooperation
Automotive conglomerates DRB-Hicom Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sweden’s Saab AB that will outline an industrial cooperation to look into areas of technology and expertise transfer to Malaysia.
DRB-Hicom said the MoU broadens and deepens the existing relationship between the two companies which already signed an Industrial Cooperation Teaming Agreement at Lima 2011 to collaborate on an Àirborne Early Warning and Control System.
“ The partnership is based on the extensive experience, strength and expertise of both companies, in supporting the government’s defence programme with solutions that will enhance Malaysia’s operational abilities, ” it said in a statement today.
The MoU was signed by DRB-Hicom group managing director Datuk Seri Khamil Jamil while Saab was represented by its president and chief executive officer of Asia Pacific Dan Enstedt.
DRB-Hicom said through the MoU both parties have agreed to explore the various areas of cooperation that include the design and manufacture of advanced composite systems and components for military and commercial aerospace applications, composite repair technology, and system integration of electronic warfare, avionics and other airborne systems.
“ The combined competencies and capabilities of both companies will provide the most cost-effective and efficient products and solutions that will be offered to the Malaysian government in the future, ” it said.
