Syria can't do jack about Israeli aggression. Guess it is payback time for all the aggressions that Syrians had done to Israel through its proxy, Hezbollah.

Syria is directly involved in several Arab-Israeli wars in 1950s / 1960s & the invasion of Lubnan by Israel. Syrian Army supported by Hezbollah occupied Southern Lubnan continued to be a thorn to Israel from 1980s to mid 2000s until Syria military pullout from Lubnan. Iran supply money, training to Hezbollah via Syria & weapons supplied by both Iran & Syria.

Syrian Air Force cannot keep Israeli fighters from invading Syrian airspace. The records between Syrian Airforce vs the Israeli had been always put Syria on the losing side. Now Syria torn to half by the bloody civil war, its airforce & misslile forces suffered defections  to the Sunni rebels, its capabilities are in serious jeopardy against Israeli provocations.

I have seen a few ordinary  explosions  that produce mushroom shaped clouds like the one in this video
