Ex-soldier and wife found stabbed to death Crime scene: Police carrying out investigations at the house in Kampung Kuala Balut.
BALING: A retired soldier and his wife were found dead with multiple stab wounds to their bodies in their home here.
A villager discovered the bodies of Alias Hasan, 65, and his wife Saayah Mat Tahir, 55, lying in a pool of blood in Kampung Kuala Balut, Kuala Pegang here at 7am yesterday.
Kedah police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Zamri Yahya said Alias’ body was found near the stairs inside the house.
Saayah’s body was found outside the house.
“A neighbour said two of the couple’s 15 goats were missing from their shed.
“We will check on this. But it is too early to conclude that thieves were involved in the murders,” he said, adding that there could be more than one suspect.
The couple’s daughter Rosmah Alias, 40, said she and her four siblings last saw their father and step-mother at around 11pm on Dec 29.
“The killers are cold-blooded and cruel.
“I believe my father knew his assailant,” she said, adding that there were no signs of a break-in and the couple’s money was not taken.
