There are those who do not realize that one day we all must die. But those who do realize this settle their quarrels.
Learning Points:
One day, we all must die. The Buddha was realistic. He was always thinking about death. However, thinking about death does not mean being pessimistic.
The Buddha could seriously and spiritually think about the best possible way of life by realistically thinking about death. For him, one will not live completely and attain the final salvation if one does not think about death realistically.
Because you accept the fact that one day you must die, you will unconditionally appreciate with your life, or chance, to attain the final salvation. You will also be so serious about learning and applying the Buddha's teachings to attain the final salvation because you have only so much time to practice. Now, you will see true value of a day for you! Wasting a day is a big loss. Everyday, you believe in the Buddha's teaching and practice to attain the final salvation.
A person who can think about death will be able to live out his/her true life. A person who can think about death will be able to find the true value of his/her life. Therefore, a person who can think about death will be able to continue the Right Practice to attain the final salvation in everyday life.
"Quarrels" means doubts or confusions in one's life. If you realize that one day you will die, such doubts or confusions will disappear from your life. All you have is "spiritual focus and confidence" in the attainment of final salvation in your lifetime.
