Another piece of debris that may be linked to missing flight MH370 has been found near Mauritius.

Two tourists discovered the large, white fragment on the coast of Rodrigues Island, a small volcanic island to the east of Mauritius.

It is believed to be from an internal cabin, used to divide first class and economy.

Experts said the piece matches the parts from the missing aircraft, which disappeared more than two years ago over the Indian Ocean.

A white, faded pattern on the bulkhead looks remarkably similar to the pattern used inside the Boeing 777.

If the debris is confirmed by authorities as part of the missing plane, it will be the first internal piece of wreckage found.

At the end of March, Australia's Transport Minister Darren Chester confirmed a Malaysian investigation team had found two pieces of debris that were consistent with panels from a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft.

"The analysis has concluded the debris is almost certainly from MH370," he said.

So far more than 95,000 square kilometres of the 120,000 square kilometre search zone in the Indian Ocean have been completed, Mr Chester said in a statement.

— Bernama
