Juve Move Tempting, Admits Frings

Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings has admitted being tempted by the prospect of a move to Juventus.

Juventus have targeted him to strengthen their midfield upon their return to Serie A, though they will have to fight hard as Werder Bremen are keen to hang on to him.

Of course, club's can do little today if the players make up their mind, and from that perspective, it looks like Bremen might be fighting a losing battle.

"Juventus want me at all costs, they are interested in me not as any midfielder, but as the midfielder," admitted Frings.

"I am seriously considering this option."

Bremen had earlier ruled out a move, but withe the player making his desire public, the club's sporting director Klaus Allofs is willing to reconsider that decision, though not if they are put under pressure.

"I am surprised that he is speaking so openly about this, but we will not let this put us under pressure," Allofs said.

"When you sign a contract you commit to honouring it, but if Torsten does not want to stay then I will not put chains on him to drag him to training in the morning."

Juve beat Inter to youth Coppa
Wednesday 4 April, 2007

Juventus have beaten Inter to the Coppa Italia Primavera youth tournament under the guidance of Ciro Ferrara and Franco Chiarenza.
The Bianconeri had won the first leg 2-0 in Turin with goals from Sebastian Giovinco and Massimo De Ceglie, so the 1-1 draw in Milan proved enough to secure the trophy.

Davide Lanzafame had put Juve ahead after 33 minutes from Riccardo Maniero抯 assist, while Hungarian Attila Filkor converted a penalty for the Nerazzurri just before the break for Stefano Di Biardino抯 foul on Sebastian Cesar Ribas. Leonardo Bonucci was sent off for the Milanese side on 75 minutes.

It is another morale-boosting victory for the giants, who also beat Inter to the 2004 Coppa Italia and hammered their rivals 5-1 for the Italian Super Cup in September.

It is the third time Juve have won this competition after the 1995 edition

Emerson blasts ex-Juventus pals Vieira, Ibra for joining Inter Milan
tribalfooball.com - April 06, 2007

Real Madrid midfielder Emerson has slammed former Juventus teammates Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for joining Inter Milan last summer.
The Brazilian rapped: "I had two happy years at Juve and to now see them in Serie B is disastrous.

"They have suffered enormously and Vieira and Ibrahimovic showed a lack of respect by going to Inter. The Nerazzurri never won the Scudetto. We fought AC Milan for that title, not Inter. It hurts to see the Scudetto on the Inter shirt.

"I have a strong bond with Turin. A return? You can never say never, though I haven't spoken with the new leadership at Juve."

Juventus 1-1 Albinoleffe

The pressure is growing on Didier Deschamps after this embarrassing stalemate with mid-table minnows Albinoleffe. The Turin giants had to do without captain Del Piero due to a muscular problem, but welcomed back Trezeguet from his ban. Albinoleffe certainly did not come to the Olimpico ready to be sacrificial lambs for the leaders, as in the opening three minutes Buffon and his defence scrambled to clear a dangerous Innocenti cross.
When the Bianconeri did find a way through the 慙effe brick wall, goalkeeper Marchetti was on stunning form with a double point-blank save on Balzaretti and then Palladino抯 follow-up. Yet it was ex-Torino Coach Emiliano Mondonico抯 side that took the shock lead against the run of play. Former Parma youngster Ruopolo was left totally unmarked to turn past Buffon with the outside of his right foot. It lasted just six minutes, though, as Marchetti抯 punched clearance only fell to Balzaretti for a spectacular lob from 30 metres into the empty net.
After the break Trezeguet nodded a Nedved cross wide and Marchetti rushed out to close down the Czech veteran on Palladino抯 assist. Palladino and Trezeguet had other chances off target, as despite vastly increasing the pressure in the second half, they had trouble finding the net. Deschamps flung on more attacking players and it turned into a siege with Bojinov抯 header thumping the inside of the upright on 83 minutes and another of the Bulgarian抯 aerial efforts well saved. Yet this desperation left space at the back and only Boumsong抯 intervention for a corner prevented Cellini from finalising a counter-attack. Despite the late surge, Juve could not find a way through.

Scorers:
Ruopolo 32 (A), Balzaretti 38 (J)
Juventus:
Buffon; Birindelli, Boumsong, Chiellini, Balzaretti; Camoranesi (Bojinov 63), Paro, Giannichedda (Marchisio 78), Nedved; Palladino (Marchionni 73), Trezeguet

Juventus 2-0 Napoli (Apr 10)

Juventus won the battle of the fallen giants and further extended their lead at the top of Serie B despite playing in 10 men, as Napoli hit the woodwork twice. This tie was postponed due to the players away on international duty. Napoli got off to a very aggressive start in Turin with Sosa twice going close, but after 15 minutes the Bianconeri took control and the lead with Nedved抯 cross whipped in to the back post for a Camoranesi header from the tightest of angles. Dalla Bona wasted a great opportunity to equalise immediately, volleying over the bar from the penalty spot, and Sosa held up the ball for Bogliacino to fire high. Instead Iezzo kept the scoreline down with desperate saves on Del Piero and a Nedved stinger from 25 metres.
Juventus finally beat the goalkeeper after the break. Camoranesi turned provider with a sweeping cross that missed out Maldonado and Del Piero flicked past Iezzo with the outside of his right foot. Trezeguet was having a terrible game and wasted two great chances to put the result beyond doubt, so he made way for Paro.
However, Juve were forced to reorganise when Marchisio was sent off for a late challenge on Gatti. Giannichedda was also booked and will be suspended for this weekend抯 trip to Lecce. Trotta scissor-kicked his volley into Buffon抯 arms and Del Piero wasted a counter-attack. Boumsong limped off with an injury, making way for ex-Chievo defender Legrottaglie, and Napoli continued to push with Trotta抯 half-volley.
There was controversy on 82 minutes, as Nedved was on the ground for several minutes and play continued with Domizzi抯 screamer hitting the bar. Sosa was even unluckier soon after, as he sprung the offside trap and placed his angled drive past Buffon towards a totally empty net, only for the ball to roll on to the upright. Del Piero went off exhausted with Nedved and Camoranesi suffering from cramp, but the Bianconeri held on for a crucial victory and in stoppages Palladino failed to score a third by prodding Nedved抯 pass wide with only Iezzo to beat.

Scorers:
Camoranesi 18 (J), Del Piero 50 (J)
Sent off:
Marchisio 62 (J)
Juventus:
Buffon, Zebina, Boumsong (Legrottaglie 77), Chiellini, Balzaretti; Camoranesi, Giannichedda, Marchisio, Nedved; Del Piero (Palladino 88), Trezeguet (Paro 63)
Napoli:
Iezzo, Maldonado, Cannavaro, Domizzi; Grava (Montervino 46), Dalla Bona, Gatti (Trotta 67), Savini; Bogliacino; Calai
