Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo is believed to be demanding £400,000-a-week if he should make a move to Manchester City.
The Sunday Mirrorreports that the attacker not only wants an astronomic salary, but hasalso sought assurances that he will be the club's highest paid player,will be handed the No. 7 shirt and brandish the captain's armband atEastlands.
A source close to the Portuguese player is quoted assaying: "Cristiano says there has been contact ­between him and a thirdparty. He says that he is extremely flattered at the lengths they’rewilling to go to.
"He claimed that they will pay him what it takes to make him a Manchester City player.
"He says he wants £400k as taxes are higher in England."
Therehad previously been reports that the Ronaldo had a fracturedrelationship with coach Jose Mourinho, and that Real may be willing tocash in on their asset.

As Marca reports, Santos forward Neymar has chosen Real Madrid as his next destination, with the deal set to be completed during next week.
The Brazil international has reportedly agreed a contract with los Blancos worth 5 million euros per season and it is now up to the two clubs to agree a transfer fee.
Being aware that Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Neymar, Santos are holding out for 45 million euros, while Real are hoping to get the player for at least few millions less.
Seeing that Santos are set to take part in Copa Libertadores final tonight, the negotiations are not expected to start until early next week.
Manchester City and Chelsea could scupper the deal with last minute bids, but with Neymar choosing Real, a move to Santiago Bernabeu looks to be very close to fruition. |

Ronaldo hat-trick seals Real win
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo netted a second-half hat-trick in a 3-0 pre-season friendly victory over Chivas Guadalajara.
The Portuguese star was the man to watch in a pulsating game that saw both sides playing some attractive football.
However, Ronaldo found Chivas keeper Luis Michel to be invincible in the first-half as it ended goalless at the break.
Michel stopped one of his trademark free-kicks in the sixth minute before denying an headed attempt from him off a corner.
And just when Ronaldo appeared to have given the Spanish giants the lead just before the break after fending off a defender to reach a through ball by Mesut Ozil, Michel was on hand again to thwart the 26-year-old.
But there was no denying Ronaldo in the second-half as the former Manchester United forward finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute.
He split through two Chivas defenders as he raced towards a cross by Karim Benzema before firing the ball past Michel.
Ronaldo doubled his side's lead three minutes later from the spot after team-mate and Portuguese compatriot Pepe was brought down in the box by Chivas' Omar Arellano.
He completed his hat-trick with an unstoppable drive to the lower right corner of the net in the 82nd minute to hand Madrid a 3-0 win. |
