The series stars Zooey Deschanel as Jessica "Jess" Day, a well-liked, bubbly woman in her late 20s who is trying to get over her breakup with her boyfriend after he cheats on her. She eventually finds a new place to stay when she moves in with three guys: Nick, a bartender; Schmidt, a professional lawyer and modern-day Casanova; and Winston, a former basketball player. Characters:
Zooey Deschanel as Jessica "Jess" Dayly, the eponymous "new girl". She is a cute, bubbly teacher in her late 20s who moves in with three guys in an apartment she found on Craigslist after a messy break-up with her boyfriend. Jess has a tendency to get into awkward situations due to her aversion to confrontation. Among her personality traits is her tendency to burst into song, sometimes making up lyrics reflecting her situation.
Jake Johnson as Nick Miller, one of Jess's new roommates.[5] Nick is a bartender who has also gone through a slightly-less-recent break up. He is revealed to be thirty and originally from Chicago. This would place his birth year at either 1981 or 1982. He dropped out of law school three semesters shy of his law degree.
Max Greenfield as Schmidt, one of Jess's new roommates. Schmidt is the stereotypical ladies man and so-called "douche bag" of the group. Schmidt is the only male employee in his company and is often the subject of mockery by his female coworkers.
Lamorne Morris as Winston Bishop, one of Jess's new roommates and the original "missing" roommate that left room for Jess to move in. Winston returns from playing basketball in Latvia in the second episode. Winston is incredibly competitive and has an uncanny ability to pick up new skills with little effort, but he has a difficult time finding and keeping employment because he quickly becomes bored with repetitive tasks.
Hannah Simone as Cece Meyers, Jess's childhood best friend and a model.

Honestly, cerita ni lawak gila. Aku tertengok kat astro 1st episode hujung tahun lepas. Mula-mula tu pun dah nampak cam best, cam ada lawak-lawak sket, lepas tu tengok sampai hujung, scene last tu terus buat aku tertunggu-tunggu episode 2, memang sengal gila scene kat dalam restaurant tu
Sejak tu la aku terus tengok sampai sekarang, tapi download je la haha. Masing-masing ada karakter yang tersendiri dan watak paling sengal bagi aku adalah Jess dan Schimidth.
